Chapter Eight: Lady Ordos

Yeye gazed at Johan’s hand—warm and broad, as if it could gently cup her forehead and then let his fingers dance through her hair, sending a pleasant, ticklish sensation that made her eyes flutter shut in comfort. He held her hand firmly, just enough to remind Yeye of the feeling of resting in her mother’s arms, though her mother never moved or led her through one large box after another like this.
Once outside, Yeye noticed that the adult females could talk and move about. Sometimes they were leading their young ones by the hand, sometimes they embraced them, and occasionally they would touch the little faces of their cubs with their lips, then smile gently, their eyes shining with a light Yeye had never seen before.
Yeye, a cub herself, longed to be treated that way. Her fingers twitched and grasped the edge of Johan’s palm tightly.
“Yeye, until your blood pig… no, until your blood pig is fully grown, you won’t leave here, right?” Johan asked. He was about to continue waiting in Red Hazelnut Town for the teacher’s message or the next orders, so he had time to learn more about Yeye.
The premonition that the teacher had sent him to meet Yeye only grew stronger.
“Mm-hmm,” Yeye nodded vigorously.
“Then you take care of your blood pig first. I’ll find the blood source for you. Don’t let your blood pig feed on others’ blood, okay?” Johan believed that Lord Ordos might still arbitrarily seize people to satisfy Seliade’s whims.
Yeye recalled how those female beasts often made demands of their cubs after stroking their heads or hugging them, and the cubs would nod in agreement. So she puffed out her cheeks and nodded earnestly.
“Good girl.” Seeing her obedient demeanor, Johan smiled and let go of her hand, naturally raising his hand to stroke her head.
Yeye immediately squinted her eyes, her expression hopeful.
Seeing her anticipation, Johan’s hesitant hand soon fell, gently stroking her silver hair, as smooth and radiant as his own.
Hehe, it felt a bit like petting a cat... For lonely people lacking social interaction, the psychological comfort brought by stroking a soft little animal—and the consequent release of pituitary hormones—can prevent one from descending into extremes or distortion.
“Someone’s coming. You hide first.”
Johan heard footsteps approaching along the corridor.
High heels—the heels were quite tall.
It must be a curvaceous mature woman; even her footsteps carried a swaying grace, accompanied by the rhythmic sound of her heels striking the floor.

“Hide over there,” Yeye pointed to a cabinet opposite the bed, then slipped inside.
“Yes, hiding is better. Maintaining invisibility requires considerable magical power and consumes a great deal of mental energy,” Johan said, closing the cabinet door for Yeye.
Knock knock—
Johan opened the door, expecting the visitor to be Lady Ordos.
Only the former beauty of Red Hazelnut Town could outshine Seliade lying on the bed.
Her lips were a soft, rosy red, like a flame in the cold winter, alluring and warm. Her slender waist bore the weight of the snow-covered Galantis Mountains, supported by hips and legs fertile and rich as the black soil.
“Lady Ordos, good day,” Johan greeted her with full courtesy, as if addressing a true noblewoman.
Having just faced Seliade’s naked form, Johan maintained a professional doctor’s composure, suppressing any improper thoughts. Yet the elegant and properly dressed Lady Ordos stirred many romantic fantasies within him.
It was all Yemenegrad’s fault—he had spent over a decade surrounded by beautiful women. So now, seeing a mature woman like Lady Ordos naturally made him feel more at ease.
“Are you really sent by Maheit? I couldn’t believe it when Uncle Lind told me,” Lady Ordos said, slipping inside and quickly closing the door behind her.
Her breath misted before Johan, carrying a subtle fragrance.
Uncle Lind—the old butler—had watched Lady Ordos and Maheit grow up together and always believed they were destined for one another.
“How is Seliade’s condition?” Lady Ordos asked next, her beautiful eyes filled with worry.
Johan did not directly answer her first question, instead speaking cautiously:
“It’s hard to say. She still needs some blood before she can end her deep sleep and the bloodthirsty state upon waking. After that, her temperament will change drastically, as if she becomes a different person. You may feel she’s no longer the Seliade you knew.”
Magical tomes recorded that a fully matured blood slave usually resembled a normal person. If not controlled by a spellcaster, she would continue living as before, but her nature would turn cold, cruel, and fond of bloodshed and violence.
“As long as she wakes up, that’s all that matters,” Lady Ordos said, no longer considering other matters. If her daughter could awaken, she was willing to pay any price.

She moved to the bedside, took Seliade’s hand, and then noticed her daughter was completely naked beneath the blanket. She glanced at Johan in puzzlement.
Johan said nothing. He suddenly recalled that Dr. Phoebe had been nearly beaten to death merely for suggesting that Seliade mate with a werewolf. What fate might await Johan, who had dissolved her clothes?
“Sir Magician, I apologize for asking so late, but may I know your name?” To Johan’s surprise, the confusion in Lady Ordos’s eyes quickly vanished, replaced by a respectful tone.
Though Lord Ordos was just an unsophisticated rural merchant, Lady Ordos was no simple country woman prone to tantrums or shrieks.
She shared the tastes and hobbies of noble ladies from the big city, chasing fashionable trends and sensitive to popular currents.
It was only because she lived in Red Hazelnut Town that some news lagged behind by three to six months.
For example, in the capital’s popular serialized novel, Noble’s Code, the ladies and their valets had already reached the twelfth issue, where a subtle romance began to blossom.
Lady Ordos had only reached the sixth issue—mainly filled with frivolous banter between a tsundere heiress and her valet.
For Lady Ordos, the heiress’s storyline lacked engagement or passion; it was the noblewoman’s growing desire stirred by her valet that sparked many romantic fantasies and satisfaction.
She had also learned from these popular novels and newspapers that doctors in the capital often came into contact with the noble ladies’ exquisite bodies. This was quite normal.
They even commissioned artists to paint tasteful, nude portraits—a fashionable trend.
Considering the magician before her was sent by Maheit, he must be worldly.
If she were to fuss over him removing Seliade’s clothes during treatment, he would likely see her as an unrefined country woman!
Lady Ordos, who had long yearned for city life, would never accept such a label.
