Words on the Launch!

Since I began writing on Qidian, I have completed four novels in total, and this marks the third time I am writing an afterword for a new release. Compared to the others, the first time left the deepest impression simply because it was the first. This time, my anticipation is at its highest, since I have never strongly promoted a launch before—so this is a first in that sense as well.

The success of this book has far exceeded my expectations. I still feel that my previous work, "Fishing Around the World," was my most satisfying creation. Nearing its completion, I experimented with a science fiction theme, but it did not turn out well. My imagination isn’t rich enough, and in the end, I decided to cut it myself.

Then I pondered what I should write next. Hunting? That overlaps a bit with fishing. History? I couldn’t find a suitable era quickly enough. Fantasy or gaming genres? I might as well write science fiction, as I struggle to craft those wildly imaginative plots.

Later, while writing, I listened to a song—“Hill” by Jonathan Lee—and suddenly a thought struck me. Jonathan Lee can turn his lifetime of reflections into a song, so why can’t I write down everything I have seen, experienced, and heard throughout my life?

So I gave it a try, and that’s how “Rebirth into Dreams” came about. It wasn’t the original title; I first named it after a song, “The Egg Under the Red Flag,” a name that better captured my mood and the tone of the book, though it didn’t pass the review.

The book’s success truly surprised me. I wrote it stubbornly according to my own ideas, without worrying about market positioning or audience, to the point where it almost couldn’t be contracted because it resembled a traditional literary work too much.

Fortunately, thanks to the exceptional editors at Fierce Hand and the Fifth Group, I managed to escape this fate. Not only was the contract signed, but the book has been recommended all along the way. Most of these recommendations I never expected to receive, marking yet another first for me.

I also owe thanks to those readers who encouraged me during “South Sea Storm Chronicles” and “Fishing Around the World.” They are like fuel, always reigniting my passion when I am weary or lazy.

“Fatty Bu” is like the nuclear fuel among them, having become the leader of the alliance for two of my books. For a writer with modest achievements, having such a leader can inspire a lifetime, because it makes you feel that your writing isn’t so bad after all—someone out there genuinely enjoys it. When I reach old age and am telling my descendants about my writing days, I can proudly say, “Back then, I even had a leader!”

It’s not just because he’s a leader that I flatter him. There’s also Star Words, who may be the only reader who truly recognizes my greatness, as well as Blood Splattered Three Feet, Strategic Special Forces, and many others who have stood by me through thick and thin. Along with newer supporters like Celestial Clouds, Twenty-Eight Floors, Lover Always, XT-01, Snow Cat, Neptune 99, Third-Generation Poor Farmer, Moon Time, East Gate Water Talk, and Water After Fire, I feel that as a writer, regardless of future success, I already have a strong sense of accomplishment. I hesitate to use the word “happiness” lightly—it feels too weighty and inappropriate.

Finally, regarding the release time: it should be around noon on December 12. I warmly invite everyone to show support through subscriptions, monthly votes, recommendations, bookmarks...
