Chapter Thirteen: Am I Really That Easy to Mess With?
Upon boarding the Azure Rock Eagle, Yun Yi discovered something peculiar: everyone was giving him a wide berth.
"Hmph! A bunch of cowards!" Lei Ling'er pouted, glaring at the crowd in the distance who were swarming others while pointing and whispering at their group.
"Don't worry, Sister Ling'er. We'll just strip them all of their points later," Qian Mo said, brushing back his ink-colored green hair. He looked at the people avoiding them with a sneer. He only respected Yun Yi; as for the rest, he didn't care for them at all, not even the upperclassmen who had suppressed their cultivation levels.
Yun Yi remained silent, smiling as he shook his head before closing his eyes to regulate his breathing. In his view, this was simply human nature. Once he became powerful enough, they would come crawling to him, fawning and smiling, hoping to curry favor.
In an instant, the Azure Rock Eagle landed on the ground and began to stretch its neck, preening its dark green feathers.
Once everyone had disembarked, Mu Cailing stood atop the eagle and looked down at them. "At noon, the upperclassmen will arrive. Good luck!"
With those words, Mu Cailing cast a deep look at Mu Qian before turning and departing.
As soon as Mu Cailing left, the crowd scattered in a panic. It wasn't that some hadn't considered that robbing their own peers might be easier, but what was the point if they ended up not surviving the ordeal?
Seeing everyone leaving, Qian Duoduo stretched his legs, preparing to follow suit.
Suddenly, a large hand slapped onto his shoulder. Qian Mo looked at Qian Duoduo's cowardly demeanor, narrowed his eyes, and questioned, "Someone was just talking big, and now that your legs are shaking, don't tell me you're scared?"
"Nonsense! Who... who's scared? I just have a fear of heights and haven't recovered yet!" Qian Duoduo wiped the sweat from his forehead, stuttering as he tried to defend himself.
Qian Mo hugged his arms and stared at him, his face full of disbelief.
"You..."
"Someone's coming!"
Before Qian Duoduo could respond, Yun Yi’s voice rang out as a warning.
Watching the four men approaching, Yun Yi felt nothing but disdain. Two at the seventh level and two at the eighth level—not worth his time.
"Kid! Do you know who you've messed with?" The leader, a man with a scar, looked at Yun Yi with a ferocious expression.
"I really don't," Yun Yi said, waving his hands and playing dumb.
"That girl beside you! She’s someone our boss has taken a liking to! Understand?"
"What boss? I don't know you people at all!" Lei Ling'er, fearing that Yun Yi might misunderstand, quickly defended herself, glaring angrily at the four men.
"Heh heh, it doesn't matter if you know us now. You will once our boss gets here!" The bearded man next to the scarred man scanned Lei Ling'er with a lecherous grin.
Although the rules forbade forcing female disciples to do certain things, the elders wouldn't say much if they just took a little advantage.
"If you look again, I'll dig your eyeballs out, you bearded freak!" Qian Mo looked at them with utter contempt and barked the warning.
Since Yun Yi didn't care about them, he didn't either.
"Boss, leave that green-haired turtle to me. I'm going to pull out all his green hair!"
"Kid, prepare to die!"
As soon as the scarred man finished speaking, he and his three companions charged at Yun Yi. The scarred man went for Yun Yi, while the green-haired one—no, wait, Qian Mo—took on the bearded man. Qian Duoduo and Lei Ling'er struggled to hold off the remaining two.
The battle erupted instantly!
Yun Yi effortlessly dodged the scarred man's first strike. The scarred man was startled, but he spun around and smashed a fist toward Yun Yi’s temple; clearly, he was highly experienced in combat.
Yun Yi was no pushover. A sneer played on his lips as he utilized the Lingfeng Steps, dodging the scarred man's attacks with ease.
"Ahhh! If you're a man, stop dodging!" The scarred man roared, pulling a large blade from his storage bag and slashing at Yun Yi.
"You're bringing weapons into this?" Yun Yi slapped the hilt of the blade aside with his palm and kicked the scarred man away.
The scarred man rolled on the ground to dissipate the force, then looked at Yun Yi with a dark expression. He could sense it now: Yun Yi was at the ninth level of Qi Refining.
"I didn't expect a character like you to exist among the newcomers."
Yun Yi was unfazed, replying playfully and with ease, "Is that all?"
"You think this is all I've got?"
With those words, the scarred man sheathed his long blade, his spiritual energy erupted, and he launched himself toward Yun Yi in a flash.
"Hahaha! The boss is using his ultimate move!"
"Hmph! The boss has mastered the Flying Eagle Claw to perfection!"
The two sidekicks chatted while easily handling Lei Ling'er and Qian Duoduo, showing no pressure at all.
Facing the scarred man who had reached him in an instant, Yun Yi didn't dare to be careless. He stepped back half a pace, avoiding the strike. The power was indeed formidable; a nearby tree as thick as a bowl was snapped in two by the claw.
Knowing he couldn't keep dodging, Yun Yi’s eyes narrowed. Spotting an opening, he unleashed the Crushing Stone Palm, striking the unsuspecting scarred man.
With a muffled groan, the scarred man flew backward, slammed into a large tree, tumbled to the ground, and began coughing up blood.
"Boss!"
"You'd better worry about yourselves!"
Taking advantage of the bearded man's distraction, Qian Mo punched him right in the face. The area hidden by his beard caved in instantly, and the man was sent flying.
The two who had been fighting Lei Ling'er and Qian Duoduo saw their boss vomiting blood and rushed over to support him.
Yun Yi crossed his arms and watched with a mocking expression. As the scarred man was helped to his feet, Yun Yi began walking toward them.
"Kid! What do you want to do!" One of the sidekicks supporting the boss saw Yun Yi approaching, narrowed his eyes, and rushed toward him.
"Get lost!"
*Slap!*
Yun Yi raised his hand and slapped him away, continuing his stride toward the scarred man.
"You..."
"What are you so nervous about?" Yun Yi smiled at the other sidekick.
He reached out and took the identity badges from the scarred man and his lackeys, transferring 1,000 contribution points to his own.
Looking at the hatred in the scarred man's eyes, Yun Yi smiled coldly. "Am I that easy to mess with?"
Suddenly, Yun Yi stomped on the scarred man's knee, shattering the kneecap instantly.
"Ah!"
A scream echoed through the forest!
Feeling the agony in his knee, the scarred man broke into a cold sweat, his eyes filled with both hatred and terror as he looked at Yun Yi. He was ruined. While he wasn't dead and could still cultivate, unless he could acquire a fourth-grade healing pill or break through to the Golden Core stage, his future was effectively destroyed.
"Feel free to let your boss come for revenge. I'll be waiting!"
Yun Yi finished, flashed a smile, and turned to look at the other three.
He saw Qian Duoduo and Lei Ling'er standing in the distance, looking at Qian Mo with speechless expressions. Yun Yi looked over, and black lines instantly appeared on his forehead.
"You dare call your grandpa a green-haired turtle! I'll show you!"
At this moment, Qian Mo was sitting on top of the bearded man, whose cultivation he had sealed, excitedly pulling out the man's black beard while cursing. Each pull tore away bits of flesh.
The bearded man, his vocal cords sealed, could only open his mouth helplessly each time a clump was ripped out.
Seeing the despair in the bearded man's eyes, Yun Yi shook his head helplessly. "Qian Mo! It's time to go! The upperclassmen will be here soon."
"Pah! My name is Qian Mo. You’d better hide when you see your grandpa in the academy from now on."
Qian Mo stood up, spat on the ground, and walked toward Yun Yi, still grumbling.
The four of them began walking deeper into the forest. This battle had earned them 2,000 contribution points.
Not long after they left, a man appeared before the scarred man. Looking at the ruined state of his subordinate, Qi Xiaotian's expression turned grim. He stared into the depths of the forest and muttered, "Yun Yi, the hunt has begun!"
