Lu Chen waved his hand once more, and the swords flew away from Scarlet Sun Peak one after another, returning to their rightful owners.
He approached Lin Yang with a broad grin and thanked him. “Thank you, Master. Without your help, I have no idea how long it would have taken me to reach the Sword Heart Illuminated realm.”
Lin Yang nodded. “Now that you have reached this realm, do not become arrogant. You still have a long road ahead of you.”
“Yes, Master.”
[Ding! Lu Chen’s Sword Dao has advanced to the Pinnacle realm! Returning reward!]
[Ding! Lu Chen has comprehended the Unrivaled Sword Dao! Returning reward!]
In an instant, Lin Yang’s Sword Dao was elevated by another realm, and he comprehended an additional Sword Dao as well.
An ordinary cultivator might fail to comprehend even a single Great Dao in an entire lifetime. Yet Lin Yang now possessed three, one of which—the Great Dao of Immortal Flame—had already reached perfection.
The only thing troubling Lin Yang was that he had originally intended to teach Lu Chen the Supreme Sword Dao and have him cultivate it, allowing himself to receive the returned reward directly.
But Lu Chen had now comprehended the Unrivaled Sword Dao on his own, leaving Lin Yang in something of a quandary.
“Forget it. Teaching him the Supreme Sword Dao as well shouldn’t be a problem. His comprehension is excellent, after all.”
Having made up his mind, Lin Yang nodded in satisfaction. At that moment, a streak of light suddenly descended upon Scarlet Sun Peak, and Zhang Xianfeng hurried out.
“Who was it? Who reached the Sword Heart Illuminated realm?” Zhang Xianfeng asked anxiously.
Then he turned toward Lin Hongye and asked expectantly, “Hongye, was it you?”
Lin Hongye shook her head. “It wasn’t me. It was my junior brother, Lu Chen.”
Only then did Zhang Xianfeng turn his gaze toward Lu Chen.
But when he saw the boy’s youthful face, he found it difficult to believe.
“You’re not joking with me, are you? A child of fifteen or sixteen has reached the Sword Heart Illuminated realm?”
Zhang Xianfeng could hardly imagine it. He had spent several centuries honing his Sword Dao and had only barely achieved mastery. Yet a boy of fifteen or sixteen had already attained Sword Heart Illuminated.
Seeing that Zhang Xianfeng remained unconvinced, Lu Chen snorted coldly and opened his palm.
The instant he did so, the sword at Zhang Xianfeng’s waist seemed to sense a summons. In the blink of an eye, it flew into Lu Chen’s hand.
Zhang Xianfeng drew in a sharp breath. His own sword had flown straight into Lu Chen’s hand. At this point, he had no choice but to believe it.
He immediately crouched down and asked Lu Chen eagerly:

“Young brother, would you be interested in joining the Great Wilderness Immortal Sect?”
Zhang Xianfeng did not care how Lu Chen had reached the Sword Heart Illuminated realm. He knew only that Lu Chen’s swordsmanship now stood at the very pinnacle of the Central Province. That alone was enough.
Cultivation could be developed gradually, but swordsmanship was different. It depended far too much on talent. If one had it, one had it; if one did not, no amount of effort could make up for it.
Moreover, how far could the future cultivation of someone with such astonishing talent possibly fall short?
Zhang Xianfeng guessed that Lu Chen’s talent might rival Lin Hongye’s—or perhaps even surpass it.
Seeing Zhang Xianfeng poaching his disciple right in front of him, Lin Yang’s expression darkened.
He coughed twice, and only then did Zhang Xianfeng shift his gaze toward him.
He eyed Lin Yang suspiciously before saying, “If you’re feeling unwell, go to the Medical Hall. They have pills there for coughs.”
Lin Yang’s expression darkened further. In an displeased tone, he said, “Sect Master, Lu Chen already counts as a disciple of Scarlet Sun Peak. Naturally, that makes him a disciple of the Great Wilderness Immortal Sect as well.”
“Now that you’re trying to poach my disciple right in front of me, do you really think that’s appropriate?”
“What? Another disciple of yours?” Zhang Xianfeng asked in disbelief.
Lu Chen nodded.
“That’s right. If not for my Master, I certainly wouldn’t have been able to reach the Sword Heart Illuminated realm.”
“Breaking through to this realm was entirely thanks to my Master. In this lifetime, I, Lu Chen, will have only one master. There will be no one else.”
Zhang Xianfeng stood there as if turned to stone. Then he pulled Lin Yang aside and asked through clenched teeth, “Lin Yang, tell me honestly. Before your master left, did he leave you some kind of soul-stealing aphrodisiac?”
Lin Yang was speechless. “What are you talking about, Sect Master? Does my master even know how to refine pills?”
“If not, then why has Hongye been won over by you? And now even this genius of the Sword Dao recognizes you as his master?”
Lin Yang thought seriously for a moment before answering solemnly, “Perhaps they were captivated by my strength and charisma?”
Zhang Xianfeng fought down the urge to beat Lin Yang senseless. After taking a deep breath, he finally advised, “Lin Yang, I won’t say anything about that girl Hongye. The sect tournament is almost here, anyway.”
“But Lu Chen truly cannot afford to be delayed. His Sword Dao cultivation is formidable, but he’s already fifteen or sixteen and still has no cultivation base. Just think how much time that will waste.”

“What matters most for him now is to cultivate diligently and raise his cultivation as quickly as possible, not to be held back. Do you understand?”
Lin Yang turned his head away.
“There’s no use telling me all that. Go tell Lu Chen yourself.”
“If he wants to change sects, I naturally have no objection.”
Hearing this, Zhang Xianfeng breathed a sigh of relief. He then walked over to Lu Chen and tried to persuade him.
“Little Lu, although your Sword Dao realm is extremely high, your cultivation is still shallow. Without a cultivation base, how can you call yourself a cultivator?”
“If you give up your status as a disciple of Scarlet Sun Peak and become my personal disciple, I may not be able to guide you much in the Sword Dao, but I can give you the greatest assistance in cultivation.”
Lu Chen rejected him without the slightest hesitation.
“No. On the path of cultivation, I don’t need anyone’s guidance or assistance. All I need is guidance in the Sword Dao.”
Lu Chen had spent a full ten thousand years cultivating from an ordinary mortal in the lower realm into a Sword Immortal of the upper realm.
Throughout those ten thousand years, he had struggled and fought his way along the path of cultivation. His insights and experience were second to none even in the Immortal Realm, let alone the lower realm.
What he needed now was not guidance in cultivation. He needed only time. Given enough time, returning to the Immortal Realm would be a matter of minutes.
Seeing that Lu Chen still refused, Zhang Xianfeng scratched his head and finally sighed.
“Very well, very well. If you’re willing to remain at Scarlet Sun Peak, then stay.”
Although he did not understand why one cultivation genius after another was willing to remain at Scarlet Sun Peak, the improvement in both their abilities was undeniable.
When Lin Hongye had first joined the sect, she had been only at the peak of the Core Formation realm. Now she was capable of slaying Nascent Soul great demons.
As for Lu Chen, he would surely display even more extraordinary abilities in the future.
With that thought, Zhang Xianfeng could not help muttering, “What secrets could Scarlet Sun Peak possibly hold…? Could this place be protected by the Heavenly Dao, allowing them to cultivate so quickly?”
Just then, the sound of approaching footsteps rang out.
