Zhao Ergou lay in a pool of blood, watching helplessly as the squad leader fought the Rongdi soldier alone, teetering on the edge of life and death multiple times. It was his own carelessness—his impulsive hot-headedness—that had ignored the enemy’s presence and allowed them to seize the advantage.

Zhao Ergou pulled up his internal interface, frantically and desperately tapping the "Physical Recovery +" option. Yet, the recovery points refused to climb. He looked up at the sky in despair. Is this my final destination? A pathetic story of a hot-blooded youth who gets himself killed in a stupid surprise attack? It was the kind of story that would make others laugh; how was this any different from his own life, where he felt equally powerless against his own fate?

Refusing to give up, Zhao Ergou pushed himself up. With a fierce glint in his eyes, he watched the exhausted squad leader stumble to the ground, using his sword to parry the enemy’s final blow.

He roared at the top of his lungs, "Squad leader!!!"

A crisp *clang* rang out.

Blood-soaked, Zhao Ergou shielded the squad leader behind him, his expression savage, vowing to tear the Rongdi soldier to pieces. He threw his head back and bellowed, "Rongdi! Give me your life!"

The squad leader stared in disbelief at the blood-drenched Zhao Ergou. He was radiating such a terrifying, murderous aura that it sent chills down one's spine. Even more astonishingly, Zhao Ergou’s wounds were visibly healing. Watching his silhouette, the squad leader wondered, could this be the legendary return of the God of Slaughter?

Zhao Ergou stood firm as a mountain. A cold glint flashed in his eyes, and with a backhand strike, he swung his blade as fast as lightning. The head of the ambushing Rongdi soldier flew into the air, and blood sprayed like a fountain, staining the city walls.

"Come on! Is that all you’ve got?"

Zhao Ergou laughed aloud, his heroic voice echoing across the battlefield. Gone was any trace of the panic of one who had narrowly escaped death. He felt his body brimming with power, his physical recovery having reached its peak at the very last moment. His eyes burned with the will to fight, his muscles tensed, and his momentum was as unstoppable as a rainbow.

He turned to the stunned squad leader, "Squad leader, with me here, the Great Qin will prevail! You just rest up, old man!"

"I'll be right back!" he said with a cocky grin.

This battle taught him that the battlefield was a graveyard; it wasn't a game where hot-bloodedness alone could see you through. This was real—blades meeting flesh, blood spilling with every strike. He had to protect his country, defend the brothers fighting by his side; not a single soldier of the Great Qin could be missing!

Seemingly having made up his mind to protect it all, Zhao Ergou moved like a ghost, taking the initiative to charge at a lone Rongdi soldier. With a fierce shout, he pounced like a panther, his steel blade turning into a cold beam of light that pierced accurately into the enemy’s left flank.

"Hey, let me give you a taste of a cold heart!"

*Squelch!*

The blade bit into flesh, and blood splattered.

"You...!"

The Rongdi soldier’s eyes widened in disbelief, blood bubbling from his mouth as he slumped down powerlessly.

"Hmph, you dare invade my Great Qin with such pathetic skills?" Zhao Ergou spat, his face full of triumph. Taking them down one by one—it felt damn good.

In the distance, a Rongdi soldier saw how ferocious Zhao Ergou was and shuddered, instinctively crossing his legs. Zhao Ergou grinned, revealing a row of white teeth. Under the sun, his smile was brilliant yet carried a chilling, bloodthirsty edge.

"Don't run! I've already spotted you!"

Without a moment's hesitation, he moved again, rushing toward his next target like a whirlwind. "You Rongdi bastards, wash your necks and wait for me!"

As a Rongdi soldier popped his head up over the parapet, Zhao Ergou appeared like a specter. "Die!"

A flash of light, and before the soldier could even react, he was decapitated, his body falling from the wall like a sack of rags.

"Hahaha! Exhilarating! I ask you, who else is there?" Zhao Ergou roared, his heroic voice ringing out over the battlefield.

A Rongdi soldier brandished his scimitar and charged at him aggressively. "Coming for me? I'll send you on your way first!"

With a murderous glare, Zhao Ergou met him head-on, his strikes wide and powerful. The Rongdi soldier was merely at the early stage of a martial apprentice; he was no match for Zhao Ergou, who dispatched him with the ease of chopping vegetables.

"Just this? You dare come here to die?" Zhao Ergou sneered, scanning the front.

Two other Rongdi soldiers, witnessing their comrade's gruesome death, roared with bloodshot eyes and lunged at Zhao Ergou together, fierce as starving wolves.

"Good! Come at me together, it saves me the trouble of finishing you one by one!"

Having cut down several enemies, Zhao Ergou’s confidence was soaring, and his adrenaline was pumping. He didn't fear them in the slightest, taking on both enemies alone. "Today, I’ll let you know that those who offend the Great Qin will be punished, no matter how far away they are!"

However, two fists could hardly hold off four hands. Even though Zhao Ergou was brave, he lacked combat experience and began to lose ground.

"Brother Ergou, I'm coming to help!"

With a roar, Sun Liu charged into the fray, his blood-dripping blade swinging, taking one enemy off Zhao Ergou’s hands.

"Brother Liu, you're a true friend! Let's fight side by side and leave none of them standing!"

With the pressure relieved, Zhao Ergou’s spirits surged. He swung his blade with even greater ferocity, his loud, heroic laughter filling the battlefield once more. His sword strikes grew more forceful.

"Hmph, a bunch of Rongdi curs, daring to clamor against me!"

Zhao Ergou laughed heroically, his eyes shining with confidence. He suddenly spotted an opening and pounced like a panther toward the Rongdi soldier before him. His steel blade descended with a whistling wind; every strike was filled with power and murderous intent. He abandoned all technique, aiming only to cut down the enemy with the greatest speed and strength possible!

Ten rounds!

In just ten rounds, relying on his innate brute strength and a streak of ruthlessness, Zhao Ergou literally cleaved the Rongdi soldier in two!

Blood splattered, staining his face, but it only made him more excited, his will to fight even higher.

"Hahaha! What a joy!" Zhao Ergou looked up and roared, his voice filled with pride and bravado.

He glanced over at Sun Liu and saw that he, too, had finished his fight. Brandishing his bloody blade, Sun Liu charged into another cluster of enemies like a god of war. His blade technique was fluid, swift, and sharp—it made Zhao Ergou’s heart itch with envy.

"Damn it, once I beat these bastards back, I’m definitely going to learn a few tricks from Sun Liu!" Zhao Ergou muttered to himself, filled with motivation.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!!"

The earth-shaking shouts filled the sky. Zhao Ergou felt his blood boiling, as if he had an endless supply of strength. His eyes darted around, and a plan formed—head-on collision wasn't the only way; he needed to be clever!

He skirted the edge of the battlefield, observing the situation and looking for an opening. Seeing a Rongdi soldier being suppressed by an old Great Qin veteran, Zhao Ergou’s eyes lit up. The opportunity had arrived!

He shouted, "Brother, move aside! Watch how I handle this cur!"

As the veteran hesitated, Zhao Ergou shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, his steel blade aiming straight for the Rongdi soldier's waist!

*Squelch!* The blade sank precisely into the soldier's side, and blood erupted instantly.

"Ah—!" The Rongdi soldier let out a miserable scream and collapsed to the ground.

"Thanks, brother!" The veteran, having survived his brush with death, said gratefully to Zhao Ergou.

"Small thing!"

Zhao Ergou grinned, his white teeth flashing as the sunlight hit his face, making him look exceptionally bright. "Follow me from now on, and you’ll be living the good life!"

He patted the veteran on the shoulder and plunged back into the fray, searching for his next target.

On the battlefield, Zhao Ergou moved like a ghost. He was like a reaper harvesting lives; to be locked in his sights meant death!

He spotted Qian Dashan locked in a stalemate with a Rongdi soldier. The enemy was fierce, but clearly no match for Qian, and was being forced back step by step. Zhao Ergou’s eyes brightened—another perfect opening!

He yelled, "Brother Qian, I’m coming to lend you a hand!"

With that, he lunged like a tiger descending a mountain, his steel blade held high, aiming a strike straight for the Rongdi soldier’s waist!
