Murong Longcheng.

After a thorough investigation with his dragon, he ultimately pinned Fu Wangtian’s death on the Supreme Profound Dao Sect. As for who exactly was responsible, that remained a mystery. To him, the identity of the murderer was unimportant—so long as there was a suspect, that was enough.

The Supreme Profound Dao Sect, one of the three great powers of Sword Province, was to the imperial Jiang family—and to Murong Longcheng himself—nothing more than an ant. Ants lived at his whim; if he willed it, they lived. If not, a single slap would end them.

To him, it was better to kill the wrong target than to let the guilty escape.

On this day, he rode his dragon forth, intent on annihilating the entire Supreme Profound Dao Sect.

But just as he arrived at the sect’s gates, he was sensed by Chu Feng.

That dangerous aura stirred something in Chu Feng’s heart. He became alert and, having just merged the Limitless Divine Eye with the Eye of the Mind, opened his gaze. At once, a blood-red vision flooded his sight—death, blood, and ruin flashed ceaselessly through his mind.

He saw—again and again—a man and a dragon wreaking havoc, slaughtering all before them.

The sect faced extinction.

Murong Longcheng.

Chen Wanwan also noticed Chu Feng’s strange reaction and asked, “Husband, what’s wrong?”

Chu Feng took a deep breath and described his premonition to her.

Her eyes shone with excitement. “Husband, your premonition must be true. Murong Longcheng is likely to make his move on the Supreme Profound Dao Sect very soon.”

“Husband, this time, you must agree to come with me to the Heavenly Demon Sanctuary.”

But Chu Feng shook his head. “It’s only Murong Longcheng. I’ll just kill him.”

He still held some wariness toward the Jiang family, but Murong Longcheng alone, with his current strength, was nothing to fear.

“Hmph,” Chen Wanwan snorted. “Husband, you just refuse to believe until you see the coffin. I’ll be waiting for you to call for help.”

Chu Feng laughed, “So, you want to see your husband make a fool of himself? I fear you’ll be disappointed. If I weren’t about to deal with Murong Longcheng, I’d give you a sound spanking right now.”

“Pfft.” Chen Wanwan giggled. “Why don’t we settle it now? Let’s see who’s stronger.”

“I’m not afraid of you,” Chu Feng’s eyes flared, and he said, smiling, “Since you’re not afraid, don’t blame me for being impolite.” As he spoke, he scooped up Chen Wanwan and strode into the house.

He had taken only two steps when his expression suddenly changed.

For at that moment, another vision flashed before his eyes. The sense of danger grew ever closer.

Chen Wanwan also sensed it and asked, “Murong Longcheng is here?”

Chu Feng nodded. “Then let’s go meet him. If he truly seeks to destroy my Supreme Profound Dao Sect, I’ll have to kill him. But it must be done without leaving a trace.”

A streak of crimson light tore through the sky, and in the next instant, Chu Feng appeared outside the sect.

At that exact moment, Murong Longcheng arrived, riding his blue-eyed azure flood dragon.

Wherever he passed, rain poured down in torrents, and a suffocating fog rolled in, making it nearly impossible to breathe. The dragon rode the clouds, the tiger chased the wind. Though not a true dragon, the blue-eyed azure flood dragon was still a mighty beast—especially when it came with murderous intent.

Inside the Dao Sect, no one sensed anything amiss; all remained as calm as still water.

Murong Longcheng frowned at Chu Feng’s attempt to stop him, scrutinizing him from head to toe. “You’re a member of the Supreme Profound Dao Sect?”

“I am,” Chu Feng replied.

Murong Longcheng declared, “Perfect. I have only one reason for coming here today: to destroy the Supreme Profound Dao Sect. Since you are one of them, you can die now.”

He moved to strike.

“Wait,” Chu Feng hurriedly said. “I have something to ask. Before you destroy my sect, can you at least tell me why?”

Murong Longcheng sneered, “Does one need a reason to crush an ant?”

As soon as he finished speaking, a tidal wave of power surged toward Chu Feng.

Murong Longcheng, a mid-stage Ascendant Celestial, together with his dragon, could sweep through the Ascendant realm with ease.

In the Eastern Wilderness, there were three great rankings: the Heaven List, recording Tribulation-realm Celestials; the Earth List, recording Ascendant Celestials; and the Mortal List, known as the Hidden Dragon List, recording the young prodigies of the great powers.

Regrettably, not a single person from Sword Province appeared on any of the three lists.

Chen Wanwan, however, was ranked seventh on the Mortal List.

She was the Saintess of the Heavenly Demon Sanctuary, possessing the Heavenly Demon Sacred Body. Yet, after dual cultivation with Chu Feng, that sacred body might well have evolved to an even higher level.

Murong Longcheng himself was ranked second on the Earth List.

Faced with his attack, Chu Feng burst into hearty laughter.

“We could have sat down and talked, but you insist on destroying my sect. What a pity. You can only die now.”

The Heaven-Searing Sword appeared instantly in his hand, and with a single slash, Chu Feng struck at Murong Longcheng.

Seeing this nobody actually dare to fight back, Murong Longcheng’s face was filled with disdain. Yet the words of mockery he’d prepared were swallowed as his expression turned grave.

He realized, “So Fu Wangtian really did die in your Supreme Profound Dao Sect. Your sect deserves destruction.”

Chu Feng retorted, “To destroy my sect, you’ll need the strength to do so.”

He slashed—Heaven’s Gate Split Asunder.

In a flash, cataclysmic power erupted.

Murong Longcheng’s face changed yet again. His position as second on the Earth List relied on his dragonrider bloodline and the blue-eyed azure flood dragon. On his own, his strength was far inferior.

The force he had just gathered instantly collapsed before Chu Feng’s sword intent, which showed no sign of abating as it sliced toward him.

When it was about to strike, the flood dragon opened its jaws and unleashed a blast of draconic breath, barely managing to dissipate the sword intent.

Even so, Murong Longcheng was badly shaken.

He fixed his gaze on Chu Feng and said, “Who would have thought that in Sword Province, within a mere second-rate Dao Sect, a genuine Ascendant Celestial would be hiding?”

“What is your name? Why did you kill one of my Jiang family? Do you truly understand the might of my clan?”

Chu Feng scoffed, “Why waste words? A dead man doesn’t need to know anything.”

Murong Longcheng laughed heartily. “You are the first to treat me, Murong Longcheng, with such disdain.”

Chu Feng nodded. “And I doubt you’ll be the last, because if you die here, countless people will look down on you.”

“A dignified retainer of the Jiang family, second on the Earth List, dying in Sword Province? What a mockery.”

Murong Longcheng was utterly enraged. He spurred the dragon beneath him. “It seems we’ve been insulted.”

“Roar!” The blue-eyed azure flood dragon bellowed, spitting out words like a human: “Die.”
