Chapter 122: Daily Life 00
The two of them entered the bedroom together.
"Should I shower first?" Song Wan rubbed her temple, her eyes hazy.
Jin Youqian felt a stir in his heart and turned his head away, feeling somewhat uneasy. "You go ahead."

As the sound of the bathroom door closing echoed, Jin Youqian couldn't help but shiver. The tips of his ears were burning.
He reached up to touch them, his gaze inevitably drifting toward the bathroom door. Unfortunately, since he had never imagined that a third person besides himself and Butler Feng would ever enter this villa, let alone that a woman who stirred his soul would one day appear in this bedroom, the room was designed quite normally.
—Ahem, at least the walls weren't made of transparent glass.
The sound of rushing water began to fill the bathroom. Without needing to think too deeply, he only had to close his eyes to imagine the scene inside.
Jin Youqian waited restlessly for a while, but eventually, unable to bear the suggestively faint sound of water, he turned and left the bedroom.
When Song Wan emerged, the bedroom was empty. She was drying her hair with a towel and paused, confused. "Where did he go?" He had been right there a moment ago.
She was wearing pajamas and opened the bedroom door to look for him, only to be startled by the man standing in the hallway.
"Jin Youqian? Why are you standing out here in the corridor?" Song Wan stared, wide-eyed, looking at the man leaning against the wall in disbelief.
Jin Youqian turned his head, his gaze landing squarely on the expanse of bare skin at her neckline.
"Ahem!" He feigned composure and looked away. "It was too stuffy in the bedroom, so I came out to get some air."
He immediately raised an eyebrow and looked at her. "Why are you walking around like that instead of drying your hair in the room?"
Song Wan couldn't help but roll her eyes. She turned back toward the room, muttering, "I came out because I didn't see you. I thought you had been called away for company business, and I was going to check with Uncle Feng."
She had only been in the shower for less than ten minutes, so of course, it was strange to find him gone.
Yet, Jin Youqian seemed completely oblivious. "When have I ever been called away after getting off work?"
Song Wan paused, then realized. "That's true." She sat on the edge of the bed and looked up at him with a playful smile. "But aren't CEOs like you supposed to be very busy, always being called away whenever something happens at the company?"
As she spoke, she frowned. Why was the area under Jin Youqian's nose a little red?
Jin Youqian’s scalp tingled; he felt as though she had sensed something. But quickly, Song Wan looked away, appearing as though she hadn't noticed a thing.
Jin Youqian let out a breath of relief and felt compelled to defend himself. "You certainly are well-informed." For some reason, the thought that she had once paid attention to the daily routines of other CEOs like him made him feel a bit disgruntled. "Those are just heads of ordinary companies. That sort of thing could never happen to me."
"Why?" Song Wan asked curiously.
Jin Youqian’s eyes flickered. "Company policy: overtime is forbidden."
Song Wan: "...Are you trying to trick a ghost?"

Sleep always passes quickly. When Song Wan opened her eyes, it was already seven in the morning. She hurried to get up, but the sudden movement woke Jin Youqian.
"Leaving already?" Jin Youqian sat up. After a moment's thought, he got out of bed to find his clothes for the day.
"Yes, I need to go to the set to discuss the specific segments of the program with the director. I need to get there as early as possible." Song Wan frowned. "Especially with the long morning rush hour—it would be a disaster if I got stuck in traffic."
"Program?" Jin Youqian’s brows furrowed. "How come I didn't know there was a variety show on your schedule?"
Song Wan was stunned. "You have my schedule?"
However, she thought about it and realized it wasn't impossible. After all, her relationship with Jin Youqian was not ordinary; it would be strange if he didn't care about her work at all. Being a celebrity was different from other professions; it was easy to run into unpleasant situations. She had only asked out of curiosity and didn't mind what might be considered "surveillance," quickly moving past it.
But because of her sudden question, Jin Youqian went stiff as a stone, standing motionless in front of the wardrobe. "I just wanted to know your daily schedule so that when I have time, I can come pick you up and take you home."
It wasn't surveillance; he wasn't that twisted. But thinking of the dramas he had accidentally glimpsed, he felt terrible. What if Song Wan misunderstood?
Song Wan grinned and lunged at him, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I didn't realize my husband cared for me so much."
Jin Youqian pulled her into his arms. Before he could even enjoy it, his face fell at her next words.
Song Wan stared at him fiercely. "But since we got married, you've only come to pick me up two or three times. Have you been busy the rest of the time? Didn't you say you don't work overtime? Have you been cheating on me with other women?"
Having lived two lifetimes, Song Wan wasn't just obsessed with romance. She was only teasing him, knowing he was essentially a gentleman on the outside but incredibly shy on the inside—she loved to provoke him.
But to her surprise, Jin Youqian took it seriously. It wasn't visible on his face, but the arm wrapped around her waist tightened until it hurt.
"There couldn't possibly be other women." Jin Youqian’s eyes were frantic, hiding a trace of annoyance deep within. "I was just attending dinners and banquets..."
As the CEO and Chairman of the group, even if he didn't work overtime at the office, certain dinners and banquets were impossible to decline. In many cases, these events were part of his job. Jin Youqian felt distressed, and it showed in his eyes.
Song Wan felt a stir in her heart. She leaned in and kissed the corner of his mouth, then, under his surprised gaze, explained, "I was just joking. You've kept yourself clean for so many years; it makes no sense for you to go looking for women after marrying me."
Seeing him still stunned, she chuckled and gave him a flirtatious wink. "Is there anyone else who can compare to my looks and figure? You're already with me; I don't believe you could ever be interested in any other mediocre flowers."
Jin Youqian breathed a sigh of relief. He looked down and met her breathtaking beauty, and... her curvaceous, devilish figure. He shifted his gaze. "Yes, your charm is indeed unrivaled."
Song Wan giggled, finding him even more adorable.

After breakfast, Song Wan headed straight for the door. Feng Yu was already waiting. Seeing her leave, he bowed. "Take care, Young Madam. No need to rush."
Song Wan paused. She had prepared herself for this cringeworthy title after Jin’s mother announced their marriage last night. But why did she feel that Butler Feng’s tone was a bit too calm? Moreover, she didn't hear the usual, "Miss Song, please remember to come back," that he never failed to add when seeing her off.
However, she didn't have time to ask and just took her bag and left.
"So, did CEO Jin agree to invest in the program?" Gao Xiang asked the moment she saw Song Wan.
Song Wan blinked, then gave a wry smile. "I forgot to ask."
"You forgot such a major thing? You really are..." Gao Xiang poked her forehead in frustration. "Don't tell me you were so lovestruck that you completely forgot the moment you saw him?"
Song Wan shook her head. "That's really not it." She paused, still feeling lingering fear from the previous night. "When we got home yesterday, we discovered that CEO Jin’s mother had arrived."
Gao Xiang felt a pang of pity for her. "You met your mother-in-law without any preparation? No wonder you forgot..." She thought about the things people said about Madam Jin online and clicked her tongue. "I have to say, Madam Jin seems easy enough to get along with. Why do you look so conflicted every time you mention her?"
Song Wan couldn't speak ill of her mother-in-law in front of Gao Xiang, so she said vaguely, "Madam Jin is a woman of temperament, and her acting skills are even enough to make me feel defeated..."
"Uh..." Gao Xiang looked blank. Was she praising her by saying a non-professional had better acting skills than a professional actor? Seeing Song Wan’s helpless expression, Gao Xiang burst into laughter. "Madam Jin is truly a character!"
Song Wan shot her a look. "What about you, Sister Gao? Is the program proposal ready?"
"Need you ask?" Gao Xiang pulled a document folder from her bag with a calm expression. "It's all in here."
Song Wan took it and, after reading the contents, exclaimed in awe, "You managed to create such a comprehensive and explosive proposal in just one night? Sister Gao, did you hire outside help?"
"Can the employees under my command be called outside help?" Gao Xiang rolled her eyes. "Well? Shall we go find CEO Jin now?"
To her surprise, Song Wan shook her head. "Let's show this to Director Zhou first. The point about 'inviting three directors to co-select the cast'—without Director Zhou's approval, we won't find anyone who satisfies him."
If they just picked a random director, not only would Director Zhou likely disapprove, but if their requirements and aesthetics clashed, the resulting scene would be ugly. More importantly, since the director of this drama was Zhou Qi, all requirements had to prioritize his vision.
Gao Xiang waved her hand. "I already showed it to Director Zhou. He said he would handle the other two directors himself and that he would definitely find people we’d be satisfied with."
Song Wan thought of the group of directors she had seen at the Fanxing Banquet and silently gulped. "Sister Gao, if the directors are of such high status, will it cause a sensation?"
Gao Xiang raised an eyebrow. "Do you know who Director Zhou is going to invite?"
Song Wan shook her head but said, "Even if I don't know, I can guess seven or eight parts of it..."
Seeing Gao Xiang’s confusion, she recounted everything that happened at the banquet, emphasizing the "pleasant conversation" between Director Cai and the others with Director Zhou.
The more capable people are, the easier it is for them to hold mutual disdain—because their own strength is sufficient, it is difficult for them to have a harmonious attitude toward peers who are less capable or with whom they cannot find common ground.
But that day, Zhou Qi had indeed been in high spirits with the top-tier directors of the domestic film industry, with no sense of forced politeness.
