Author's Note for the Launch

At the stroke of midnight, the book will go on sale, and my heart is full of fear and hope. After three years of forging, tonight it will finally be complete. It may ride the clouds, pierce the mist, and become a divine dragon of the nine heavens; or it may lose all luster and remain nothing more than ordinary iron here among mortals.

The hour of midnight will reveal the answer!

If the author is the blacksmith, then my dear brothers and sisters, you are the fire that can turn common iron into a divine weapon.

If a blacksmith has no fire, what is he? A madman? A performer? Or a prophet clutching a lump of ore and crying out to the heavens?

None of these. He is only a very foolish failure.

I do not want to be a madman, a fool, a clown, or that pitiful prophet. I want to succeed, and I want it desperately, so I can only ask for your help.

Please cast this book, Silver Fox, together with me, into a blazing fire. I hope that from the flames there will rise a divine dragon, or a golden phoenix, and not merely the burning of me, a heap of fat and oil.

Please, no matter what, subscribe to Silver Fox. I have truly written this book with the utmost seriousness. Please use your very first monthly vote to support Silver Fox. I promise it will be a good book, worthy of your trust and worthy of your recommendation.

What needed to be said has already been said, and everything now rests with my brothers and sisters.

With deepest respect, I bow to you all.
