Sun Wenjia smiled, revealing her adorable little tiger teeth. “Back at Mingliu Mountain, didn’t you take down those two by yourself, Brother Xiaohao?”

Yang Wenhao couldn’t help but laugh quietly. Those two were no ordinary people; they were genuine martial artists. Though in Yang Wenhao’s eyes, they were nothing special.

Though their strength was not remarkable, they still ranked among the second-tier martial artists—capable of beating several ordinary strong men single-handedly without breaking a sweat.

“Brother Xiaohao, I’ll keep it a secret,” Sun Wenjia nodded solemnly.

“Mm,” Yang Wenhao replied, not bothering to explain further. Too many words would only complicate things.

Moments later, a graceful figure hurried into the room. It was none other than Su Muyu, the woman Yang Wenhao had saved two months ago.

As soon as she entered, her eyes lit up at the sight of Yang Wenhao.

“I’m sorry, I forgot to ask for your numbers earlier,” Su Muyu said. She had always wanted to thank Yang Wenhao, but without a phone number, it was impossible to find him in the vast sea of people.

“It’s fine,” Yang Wenhao shook his head. He wasn’t the type to dwell on such matters.

Meanwhile, Li Xuan and Fang Jingxuan came out to join them.

“You’re here, Muyu,” Fang Jingxuan greeted.

Su Muyu nodded, “What happened? Why is Yang Wenhao here?”

“You’ll have to ask him yourself,” Fang Jingxuan replied, passing the responsibility to Yang Wenhao.

With a helpless smile, Yang Wenhao recounted the events, omitting certain details.

At that moment, a woman in a white robe approached Fang Jingxuan and whispered a few words in her ear.

Fang Jingxuan’s brows furrowed as she turned to Yang Wenhao. “You three need to give your statements. We’ll notify you if there’s any progress.”

As the parties involved, the three went to record their statements.

Leaving the police station, Sun Wenjia breathed a sigh of relief. “I never want to come here again.”

“What’s wrong?” Su Muyu asked, her curiosity piqued as she drew closer.

“This place is too oppressive,” Sun Wenjia replied.

Su Muyu smiled softly. “It’s always like this. Unless absolutely necessary, no one likes coming here. Come on, big sister will treat you all to a late-night snack.”

Sun Wenjia’s face brightened, and she nodded.

Yang Wenhao had no intention of joining, but with Su Muyu persuading Sun Wenjia and Li Xuan, he had no choice but to go along.

After their late-night meal, Su Muyu drove them all home.

Eventually, only Su Muyu and Yang Wenhao remained in the car.

Eyes fixed on the road, Su Muyu said, “This matter might not be so simple.”

Yang Wenhao gazed out the window at the passing scenery. “That veteran driver died from his heart meridian being shattered. The killer is no ordinary person.”

Su Muyu wasn’t surprised; Fang Jingxuan had already told her. She knew Yang Wenhao was a martial artist, so his insight was no surprise.

“Be careful these days. That person might target you—you ruined his plan,” Su Muyu said.

“Perhaps,” Yang Wenhao sighed. Back in the martial world, many wanted him dead. Now, even on Earth, he still faced threats.

“By the way, can you tell me your level of skill?” Su Muyu turned her gaze to him, her beautiful eyes full of anticipation.

“You want to know?” Yang Wenhao glanced at her. She was breathtaking, a pearl in the night sky, unforgettable.

“Of course,” Su Muyu replied.

Yang Wenhao hesitated, then said, “Let’s just say, post-celestial.”

It wasn’t that he feared Su Muyu would reveal anything; he simply preferred to keep some things to himself.

“Post-celestial!” Su Muyu was taken aback.

“We’re here,” Yang Wenhao said, opening the car door and stepping out.

“Wait, let me have your number,” Su Muyu called out.

“Alright,” Yang Wenhao recited his number.

Su Muyu noted it down and dialed, watching as Yang Wenhao’s phone lit up with her call. Hanging up, she smiled, “If anything comes up, call me. I may not know martial arts, but I can still help.”

Help me? Are you sure you can help with my problems?

Yang Wenhao nodded and left.

After he was gone, Su Muyu’s phone rang.

“Hello, what is it, Jingxuan?” she answered.

“Where are you now?” Fang Jingxuan’s voice came from the other end.

“I just dropped Yang Wenhao at home,” Su Muyu replied.

Fang Jingxuan hesitated, then said, “Do you want to know more about Yang Wenhao?”

“I’ll be right back.”

Su Muyu pushed open the door and returned home.

She was staying at Fang Jingxuan’s house, so naturally, she returned there.

Inside, Fang Jingxuan sat on the sofa in her pajamas.

“Did someone from above come?” Su Muyu asked.

Fang Jingxuan nodded. “This matter is quite serious. Headquarters will definitely send someone down.”

“But if that’s the case, Yang Wenhao…”

Su Muyu already knew Yang Wenhao was just a student. If a student got involved in something like this, wouldn’t it be inappropriate?

Fang Jingxuan said, “They plan to send someone to approach Yang Wenhao. You know as well as I do that people without an organization need to be kept in check.”

Su Muyu replied, “I feel he’s alright. He probably won’t do anything against ethics.”

“Muyu, have you forgotten my job? There’s no shortage of such cases,” Fang Jingxuan said calmly. “Interest can turn people from good to bad.”

No matter where you are, self-interest always comes first.

Some turn against their brothers for personal gain; some even kill their wives and children for it.

Such examples are countless throughout history.

Su Muyu frowned, “Maybe I should talk to Grandpa. He’s still a student.”

“Oh?” Fang Jingxuan leaned in with a teasing look in her eyes. “What, you’ve taken a liking to this boy?”

Su Muyu blushed, pushing Fang Jingxuan away. “I just want to thank him for helping me before.”

Fang Jingxuan smiled. “The truth is, he only stepped in to help his friend, not you.”

“I know,” Su Muyu nodded. “But I still feel I should help him.”

Fang Jingxuan said, “Since you’re so determined, as your closest friend, I can’t just stand by.”

Su Muyu’s face brightened with joy. “I knew you were the best, Jingxuan.”

Fang Jingxuan continued, “Still, given the current situation, as long as he doesn’t cross any lines, he should be safe.”
