Chapter 2: A Fortuitous Encounter with the True Heiress’s Fiancé
A few days later, Hongjie insisted on dragging me out of the house, saying there was a lavish party hosted by a big shot. All the prominent figures of City A were attending. The Zeming Teahouse had landed this major gig and called in every available girl; I was on the list too.
Such parties were politely called social gatherings, but less politely, they were occasions for powerful men to pick from the surrounding women. If lucky, one might catch the eye of a wealthy patron and rise like a phoenix. If unlucky, one could be used up and left broken.
Although I had received a large sum from Jin Shixun last time, it was only enough to partially repay the high-interest loan Sasha owed.
To fulfill Sasha’s last wish and treat his younger brother as my own, I rarely went to such events, but this time I had to take the risk.
Sasha’s brother had just been admitted to university this year and needed money for countless expenses.
Now, I was willing to take any job that could earn money.
According to protocol, guests entered in batches, and as a simple tea artist providing service, I was in the last group.
Before my turn, I went to the restroom to touch up my makeup.
Suddenly, the door was pushed open violently. Before I could react, a scorching breath pressed against me.
It was hot, unbearably hot.
I instinctively wanted to scream but a man covered my mouth.
In the mirror, I saw a tall figure. The overhead light traced his delicate, cold face, like a god descending to earth.
I racked my brain but couldn’t recall who he was.
Jin Shixun loved collecting luxury watches, and I recognized most of them.
So I recognized the watch on this man’s wrist—a limited edition worth millions.
I looked up at him, struggling to appear calm. “Sir, do you need help?”
His jet-black eyes were full of lust, and his body radiated heat.
It was obvious he had been drugged.
“Are you… from here?” he asked.
He squeezed my hand harder, his voice hoarse. “Help me. Twenty thousand each time.”
Two hundred thousand yuan—he must be an important figure.
“I won’t sell myself!” I declared.
The man, probably under the influence of drugs, lost patience. “Fifty thousand. Just once.”
“No way!” I refused firmly.
His gaze suddenly turned cold. “Don’t make a sound. The person who drugged me is looking for me.”
I quickly shut my mouth.
The next second, he threw me aside.
He looked at me, his Adam’s apple moving as if he wanted to say something.
I tidied my tangled hair, licked my lips, and spoke before him, “Sir, I can help you, but I want one million. No negotiation.”
His eyes darkened slightly. “I, Qi Yuzhou, am being bargained with for the first time.”
Qi Yuzhou? That name sounded familiar.
“This is a life-saving sum—one million for one life. Not too much, right?” I smiled, unable to recall more details, and asked, “Will it be a check or a bank card?”
His face darkened as he lowly pulled out a bank card.
“This is the first time someone has rushed me for money.”
I reached out to take it, but the card slipped and fell at his feet. I bent down to pick it up, flashing him a professional smile. “Thank you, Mr. Qi.”
Qi Yuzhou stared at me intently.
“Mr. Qi, hold on a moment.”
I added kindly and took a syringe from my bag, carefully injecting it into his arm.
Hongjie had specially prepared this for me—if someone drugged me at such an event, I could use it to save myself.
I hadn’t expected to use it on a stranger.
But one million yuan wasn’t a bad price. I just had to put on heavy makeup later and be cautious.
At that moment, footsteps approached outside.
Before I could think more, a voice came, “Miss Jin, we’ve searched everywhere but didn’t find Mr. Qi. Only here is left.”
Then a woman’s voice said, “Come in.”
That voice was somewhat familiar.
My feet felt nailed to the floor, unable to lift.
Jin Siqi.
The woman I couldn’t forget even in my dreams.
It was because of her that I lost my status as Miss Jin.
Because of her, I endured six months of life worse than that of a dog or pig.
Obviously, she had come for Qi Yuzhou.
Did they know each other?
Then it hit me why his name sounded so familiar—he was Jin Siqi’s fiancé.
I never expected to meet Jin Siqi’s fiancé.
I narrowed my eyes and steeled myself. “Mr. Qi, the woman outside is your fiancée, right? I heard the Jin family’s eldest daughter has quite a temper.”
Qi Yuzhou’s almond-shaped eyes narrowed slightly as he smiled softly. “What’s there to fear?”
I spoke deliberately, tracing my finger along his belt and whispering in his ear, “That could seriously impact your family’s business.”
“You’re the first person to dare threaten me.”
Qi Yuzhou stared at me for a long moment, then took out a second card.
This time, he didn’t toss it to the ground but paused deliberately as I reached for it.
“I’ll remember you,” he said, watching me like a fascinating prey.
I remained unflustered, smiling charmingly, and planted a soft kiss on the card. Then, ignoring the man beside me, I strode out first.
At that moment, the footsteps grew clearer, and a graceful figure arrived with a group.
I didn’t hide but bowed my head politely like the other models, greeting the organizer.
When Jin Siqi walked by, she caught a glimpse of a silhouette.
That familiar feeling startled her.
Then the organizer’s delighted voice rang out, “Mr. Qi! You’re here!”
Jin Siqi’s attention was immediately drawn to Qi Yuzhou stepping out of the restroom.
Seizing the opportunity, I slipped away from the crowd.
“Brother Qi,” Jin Siqi approached with a face full of joy, unaware of my escape.
...
I returned to my small apartment and happily took a shower.
In hindsight, I was quite scared.
I never expected the man I met in the restroom to be Jin Siqi’s fiancé.
For several days after, I avoided the Zeming Teahouse.
When I finally went back, Qi Yuzhou didn’t seek me out, but others did.
Hongjie’s expression changed dramatically. “Qinxin, did you offend someone? The fiancée’s family came looking for you!”
I knew exactly who they were.
