Chapter 3: Once Recognized, He Became a Beloved Brother
Under everyone's watchful eyes, I twisted my waist and walked inside.
Two figures stood within.
I heard Siqi Jin's voice tinged with grievance, "Brother, I don't care. I want that fox spirit to suffer a fate worse than death!"
I was taken aback—I hadn't expected Shixun Jin to be here as well.
I quickly lowered my head.
Shixun Jin's eyes were calm but cold. "Good girl, take the lady out. Don't worry, brother will handle this."
His voice carried a gentle tenderness.
Siqi Jin was led out of the room, shooting me a fierce glare before leaving. "Just wait and see, my brother will teach you a proper lesson."
She hadn't recognized me.
In these five years, I had changed quite a lot; it was understandable she didn't recognize me.
But now, the formidable challenge before me was Shixun Jin.
I kept my head lowered and called out in a low voice, "Sir."
His gaze lingered on me, cold as ice. "Bold of you, daring to provoke even my brother-in-law!"
"Look up."
Hearing his detached, aloof voice, I almost wanted to laugh.
Just days ago, wasn't he lying beneath me? Who was more noble, really?
I didn't look up but smiled faintly, speaking in a coquettish tone, "Sir, you must be mistaken—I don't even know your brother-in-law."
He let out a cold laugh, his eyes growing more ferocious. "Still denying it at this point? If you won’t admit it, then you'll have to speak up yourself."
Shixun Jin merely tilted his chin slightly, and behind the door, a dozen strong, burly men surged in.
I clenched my fists tightly, knowing he truly intended to get rough with me, but I refused to die here so easily.
Yet the next moment, Shixun Jin simply stood up, smoothed the wrinkles on his custom-made suit leisurely, and said, "Everything has its price. Don’t worry, I’ll spare your life."
With that, he signaled the men, who immediately closed in on me.
Step by step, they advanced. As Shixun Jin was about to leave the private room, I knew I could no longer hide, so I shouted loudly, "Shixun Jin!"
When I uttered that name, I no longer concealed my voice.
His footsteps halted.
He suddenly turned his head, his cold, piercing gaze fixed on me.
Our eyes met, and my breath caught for a moment, but soon I revealed a mocking smile. "No matter what, I was once your sister-in-law. Isn’t it a bit harsh for you to treat me this way?"
His gaze grew even colder. After a moment, he recovered and ordered sharply, "Everyone out!"
The men hurriedly left.
Only Shixun Jin and I remained in the room.
Anger flickered in his eyes. "What are you doing here?"
Hearing this, I laughed more brazenly. "Mr. Jin, what does it matter to you?"
He frowned at "Mr. Jin." "Xin Jin, I am your brother."
He repeated the words as if reminding me of something.
I rolled my eyes inwardly, then smiled coquettishly. "Sorry, Mr. Jin, I have no brother—only a lover brother. If you wish, Mr. Jin, you can be my lover brother."
Seeing my attitude, his brow furrowed deeper, his eyes filled with disdain.
Having spent five years in the teahouse, I had facedI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
