Chapter 5: The Man Took the Initiative
Jin Shixun’s body instantly tensed. “Jin Xin, stay away from Jin Siqi and her fiancé.”
Before the car stopped, Jin Shixun warned, “Or you’ll find out what a real nightmare is.”
After getting out, Sasha’s younger brother looked at me with concern, as if he had many questions on his mind.
I brushed it off with a casual excuse.
“Don’t worry about adult matters,” I said, smiling as I ruffled his hair. “The most important thing now is for you to study hard, find a good job after graduation, and start your own family. That’s also your sister’s wish.”
Sasha’s brother resembled his sister a bit—a delicate and handsome young man.
He nodded seriously in agreement.
After sending him back to school, I finally left for Zeming Teahouse.
“Sister Hong, there’s a bit of trouble with President Qi. Can you help me get in touch with him? Someone leaked that we were drinking together.”
Sister Hong immediately saw through my plan. “Qin Xin, you helped him out before and caused some displeasure. Now you want to approach him voluntarily—those are two different things. Have you thought this through?”
“Heh, what’s the difference?” I pulled out a bottle of perfume with aphrodisiac effects and sprayed it on myself. “Since they all think I seduced him, if I don’t actually seduce him, wouldn’t that be a loss?”
If I could keep Jin Shixun’s attention on me at all times and get revenge on Jin Siqi, why not?
The next day, at the Qi family estate.
“You really…” Sister Hong shook her head helplessly.
After a while, she received a message. Qi Yuzhou sent an address over, inviting me to come tomorrow.
“See? This is his initiative.”
I knew Qi Yuzhou had taken the bait.
I was led to the backyard by the pool.
The sun was shining brightly. Qi Yuzhou was lazily lying on a lounge chair, enjoying the sun. Water droplets clung to his skin, sparkling like diamonds in the sunlight.
“What’s the matter? Speak up.”
He opened his eyes lazily, but when he saw my outfit, a flicker of surprise crossed his gaze.
Today I wore a formal business suit, perched glasses on my nose, and held a pen—looking every bit the professional woman.
But on closer inspection, something was off.
“Hello, President Qi.” I adjusted my glasses and sat down opposite him with an air of seriousness.
Qi Yuzhou swallowed unconsciously.
“Come here.” He beckoned me with a finger, desire nearly spilling over.
But I just wanted to tease him a little—then have Jin Siqi catch us.
“Here I am.” I winked at him and obediently walked over. “But I want to ask, how did Young Master Jin find out about us?”
Qi Yuzhou chuckled lightly, but before he could answer, a commotion erupted.
“I’m going to find Brother Qi! Why are you stopping me?”
It was Jin Siqi’s voice—Qi Yuzhou’s proper fiancée had arrived.
I smiled faintly; the real show was about to begin.
I deliberately grabbed Qi Yuzhou’s arm, expecting him to push me away, but instead, he hugged me and jumped into the pool.
This was a specially designed pool, with a handrail separating a small pool from the larger one.
Qi Yuzhou placed me in the small pool, so I had to crouch down, his body perfectly shielding me.
Just after this, the sound of Jin Siqi’s high heels approached.
I heard her coquettishly say, “Brother Qi, you’re swimming? Why is your face so red?”
“You came two hours early,” Qi Yuzhou’s voice softened. “Go wait in the living room; I’ll be there soon.”
“Maybe I could swim with you…” Jin Siqi’s voice lowered with a hint of shyness. “Last time was my fault. I know you care about me, don’t want me to suffer, and want me to be the purest bride, so…”
I rolled my eyes—what an act.
“No need, you should go first.”
He raised his voice, “Someone, escort Miss Jin to the reception room.”
“Brother Qi, I—I’m willing to learn those things,” Jin Siqi said shyly. “Maybe for your birthday, we can try.”
“Jin Siqi! Don’t force yourself. I know you’re not that kind of person.”
When the servants arrived, Jin Siqi had nothing more to say and followed them away.
If he hadn’t trapped me, I would have broken free long ago.
“You’re playing with fire.” Qi Yuzhou’s eyes burned like twin flames as he pressed down on me.
“You almost got caught by her.” He pinned me against the wall. “The photos of you and Jin Shixun have all been sent to me. Qin Xin, do you like courting death?”
My eyes sharpened—I understood now.
It seemed someone in Zeming Teahouse was out to get me.
Jin Siqi was gone, and he no longer held back, lowering his head to kiss me.
Water splashed in the pool as I deftly dodged his kiss with a turn and swam aside.
“So, President Qi, this is the kind of man you are,” I teased. “Are you here to practice your skills with me? Then Miss Jin Siqi will surely be very happy.”
“Shut up.” He reached out to grab me. “Who do you think you are? You don’t deserve to mention her!”
Though he spoke harshly, his body was far more honest than his words.
Jin Siqi was the same as ever—always pretending to be pure and flawless in front of men.
Just the thought made me laugh.
“President Qi, you forgot again—I’m not for sale!”
I grabbed the handrail and climbed out of the pool.
“You didn’t call me over to make tea today?”
Qi Yuzhou soaked in the icy water for a while before barely calming down.
“The butler will come to take you to change. You know what to say and what not to say.”
Without looking at me, Qi Yuzhou walked out of the pool.
I rolled my eyes secretly.
What a beast.
Pride is something only those with no worries about food or clothing care about.
Having been abandoned by the Jin family all these years, I understood that money was far more reliable than so-called pride.
A soft towel was draped over me.
“Miss Qin Xin, please follow me,” the young butler said without expression, bowing his head. “Mr. Qi wants you to change quickly. I’ll escort you out through the back door.”
“No, your young master invited me to make tea,” I smiled slightly and produced an invitation letter.
In these grand families, one must always have proper credentials. Naturally, Qi Yuzhou wouldn’t skip such formalities if he wanted to see me.
But he had no idea I planned to use this opportunity to blow everything wide open.
Seeing the butler’s slight confusion, I hurriedly added, “Don’t worry, if anything happens, I’ll take full responsibility.”
The butler fell silent and led me into a guest room.
Looking at the dress laid out on the sofa, I couldn’t help but frown.
“This is for me?”
