Chapter 4: Shocking Old Ma for a Century!

Good heavens! Surrounding him were piles of cash stacked like little mountains! Nearby lay numerous gold jewelry pieces and gold bars! At this moment, he doubted whether he was dreaming, but after pinching his own face hard, he confirmed he was awake!
“Looks like I’ll need several days to take all this away; can’t carry so much at once!” Chu Feng wiped the sweat from his hands and grabbed a gold bar, biting down hard on it.
The faint teeth marks left on the gold bar were unmistakably clear! It was genuine!
A few days later, Chu Feng rented a warehouse in a rundown part of the city. Using an old sofa scavenged from a scrap yard as a cover, he stored the money and gold inside the warehouse.
Though it appeared empty, beneath the worn sofa cover lay assets worth over a hundred million.
In his previous life, Chu Feng could never have even dreamed of possessing such wealth.
“The urgent task now is to convert this money into ‘legitimate funds’ as quickly as possible!” Chu Feng sat on the sofa, deep in thought.
He rapidly searched his memory for relevant knowledge. Suddenly, he recalled that during his time in prison in his past life, there were many inmates, including one who was imprisoned specifically for money laundering.
Ordinary money changing was fine, but this man later got involved in an underground casino case and was imprisoned.
This fellow had about half a year left to serve, so perhaps Chu Feng could use this connection to channel the money through legitimate routes!
After a bath, Chu Feng went to a private gold shop in the city center, carrying a suitcase.
Rows of gold and silver jewelry sparkled brilliantly in the display window.
“Hello, how can I help you?” A stout middle-aged man approached. He wore a traditional Tang suit, gold-rimmed glasses, and a bracelet made of golden nanmu wood wrapped around his wrist.
Chu Feng leisurely sat on a carved wooden chair, crossing his legs. “Old Ma, how’s business lately?”
“Do we… know each other?” Ma Long adjusted his glasses warily and looked at Chu Feng.
Chu Feng smiled. “Of course, I was introduced by someone. My good buddy told me you’re the one who can legitimize money!”
“Are you joking? I run a legitimate gold shop.” Ma Long remained cautious as he sat opposite Chu Feng and poured him tea.
Chu Feng chuckled, “A legitimate gold shop? Someone as shady as you running a legitimate gold shop?”

Ma Long’s face darkened. “I don’t know why you say that, sir. I haven’t done anything to offend you, have I?”
“Maybe I should tell your wife about that female streamer living in that splendid high-rise?” Chu Feng sipped his tea; it was quite good.
“Oh! So you’re one of us!” Ma Long wiped the sweat from his forehead. “Sorry, sorry, things have been tight lately. If there’s anything you need, just say the word!”
Only insiders would know Ma Long’s secret—that he was supporting a female streamer behind his wife’s back.
Chu Feng stood, pulled aside the pleated curtains, then used a folding fan to block a hidden camera.
In the next moment, he kicked over the suitcase, and gold bars spilled out like a waterfall, covering the entire floor!
Ma Long was stunned.
The golden light dazzled everywhere. For a moment, Ma Long’s mouth hung open, as if frozen in place.
“My God!” Ma Long cried out, hopping on one foot, his face full of shock.
“All of it… real!” His voice trembled with excitement as he gently stroked a gold bar as though caressing a lover’s face.
Chu Feng casually took a pack of premium cigarettes from Ma Long’s jacket pocket and lit one.
“How much is a bar like this worth, brother?” His tone was relaxed, as if asking about the price of vegetables today.
Ma Long scrutinized the young man in front of him, probably about twenty years old, looking like a college student.
Yet his aura was streetwise and rough, like a recently released convict.
The stark contrast in his demeanor left Ma Long unable to gauge the young man’s true background.
“This guy hides a lot beneath the surface—I must befriend him!” Ma Long resolved silently.
Seeing Ma Long silent, Chu Feng crossed his legs again. “So, Mr. Ma, any questions?”
Ma Long thought for a moment, calculated quickly, then smiled broadly. “One bar is about five hundred thousand. You’ve got twenty here, so I’ll give you ten million!”
Chu Feng’s heart leapt with joy, but his expression remained calm and composed.
“How much commission are you taking?”
“Usually twenty percent… but since we’re old friends, just ten!”

“We’re old friends on our first meeting?” Chu Feng smirked.
Ma Long chuckled, stood up, and spun around. “This is actually our second meeting!”
Both men exchanged a glance and laughed heartily.
Chu Feng immediately slammed the table. “I have three cases of these bars. You take seven percent!”
“Three cases?” Ma Long’s eyes flicked. Realizing the young man could produce such quality goods in such quantity, his mind raced—his backing must be formidable.
Three cases meant thirty million; even at seven percent, his cut would be over two million—equivalent to half a year’s income.
“Alright! Consider me your new friend!” Ma Long extended his hand, which Chu Feng shook.
Suddenly remembering something, Chu Feng took off a watch from his wrist and showed it to Ma Long. “Boss Ma, take a look at this watch. What’s it worth?”
Ma Long immediately recognized it as a counterfeit purchased from an online store but examined it seriously.
He exclaimed, “This is from the master watchmaker Markel Kings! This watch must be an heirloom!”
“You’re generous, Mr. Ma!” Chu Feng gave a thumbs-up.
Ma Long laughed and handed Chu Feng a check for twenty-eight million. “Here’s your payment!”
A cheongsam-clad beauty nearby was stunned. She said, “Shouldn’t this be paid in gold…”
“Gold? What gold? I haven’t seen any gold!” Chu Feng feigned ignorance.
Ma Long held the watch, explaining, “Xuan Xuan, where’s the gold? Today I spent twenty-eight million buying this limited edition watch from Mr. Chu!”
“Yeah, miss, don’t wrong the man—we deal in legitimate business.” Chu Feng glanced at his phone and prepared to leave.
Ma Long warmly stepped forward, “Mr. Chu, let me see you out!”
“Hey! No need!” Chu Feng raised his hand to stop him, patting Ma Long on the shoulder. “Make sure your people know what to ask and what not to ask.”
Ma Long shivered. At this moment, he felt as if the young man before him had grown towering and imposing.
Cold sweat beaded on his forehead. “Understood! Take care!”
