The place where Peter was shot wasn’t far from the Osborne Group building—just a quick drive away.

But Xu Wang, being a sane person, naturally knew that sneaking into a tech company to steal something wouldn’t be easy.

So, he made some preparations.

Wearing a refuge worker’s uniform paired with a baseball cap gave off the vibe of a skilled technician’s work clothes.

With this outfit, plus carrying a folding ladder and a huge toolbox, no one doubted Xu Wang’s identity anymore.

Most importantly,

Xu Wang exuded an overwhelming confidence!

There was absolutely no hint that he was there to do anything wrong.

Such confidence made it hard for anyone to suspect him.

The security guard at the Osborne Group just saw Xu Wang carrying a ladder and didn’t even ask questions; he opened the door for him directly, assuming he was there for maintenance.

Xu Wang acted naturally as well.

It was actually quite late at this hour.

Most people inside the building had already left work.

Only a few unlucky employees were still working overtime.

At the front desk, relying on his handsome face and witty words, Xu Wang quickly gained the trust of the receptionist.

From her, he got a rough understanding of the building.

Combining this with the movie’s plot,

Xu Wang finally knew which floor he needed to go to.

Having obtained the information he wanted, he planned to leave immediately.

But just before turning around, it seemed he remembered something.

Xu Wang looked at the receptionist and flashed a charming smile: “Want to chat about some adult topics?”

The receptionist had been waiting for this.

Without hesitation, she unzipped her top a little and gave Xu Wang a flirtatious wink: “Of course, no problem~”

Xu Wang leaned in slowly to her ear and said in a magnetic voice, “How much do you earn each month? Do you have social insurance? Do you have savings? How much loan do you still owe?”

“You’re crazy!”

The receptionist’s face darkened halfway through his sentence, and she pushed Xu Wang away forcefully.

Xu Wang looked wronged.

She was the one who agreed to chat about adult topics; how could she flip like that now?

Really, this woman was just inexplicably strange.

Feeling aggrieved, Xu Wang left carrying his ladder.

Watching Xu Wang’s departing figure,

the receptionist was still not satisfied; angrily, she raised both middle fingers and sent him off as he entered the elevator.

Carrying the ladder, Xu Wang moved freely inside the Osborne Group building.

In fact, in the original movie, Peter Parker behaved similarly,

even sneakier than this.

No one bothered him.

Soon, Xu Wang found the biological laboratory that appeared in the film.

Two Φ symbols were posted at the lab’s entrance, making it easy to recognize.

The lab door was secured with a password lock.

Page 2/3

Unlike typical numeric or biological codes, this lock used several colored balls.

The movie had shown in detail how to unlock this kind of password.

Xu Wang recalled briefly and began to operate it.

Very quickly,

he heard a “click,” and the password door swung open.

Xu Wang whistled softly and, feeling right at home, walked in.

Compared to the United Company’s laboratory, Osborne’s lab felt much more futuristic.

Inside were neatly arranged experimental results of the Osborne Group.

Most of these were not displayed publicly.

Either they were unfinished products or had no commercial value.

Among them, Xu Wang saw a kind of extremely tough spider silk and a five-meter-tall, sleek silver rhino-shaped exoskeleton suit with a heavy armor exterior.

To be honest, Xu Wang was quite envious of that mech.

Because of his personal physical condition, he definitely couldn’t become Spider-Man.

But a mech like that had far fewer restrictions.

Anyone who could operate it could drive it—even a monkey.

Walking over to the rhino mech, Xu Wang fondled it lovingly, then opened his toolbox and tried to stuff the entire mech inside.

Unfortunately, the mech was just too large, and Xu Wang was somewhat powerless against it.

This is the most painful moment for any scavenger.

The treasure is right in front of you, but your backpack can’t hold it.

That feeling was worse than being killed.

Because he hated that feeling so much, Xu Wang always set his backpack limit to infinite when playing games.

He could pick up trash and throw it away later,

but he couldn’t just watch valuable loot and be unable to pick it up.

This was something no scavenger could accept.

“Perhaps this is our fate—we are destined to be star-crossed,”

Xu Wang wailed, hugging the rhino mech.

After a while, wiping his tears and snot on the mech, he finally turned to get down to business.

In a deeper room, under dim blue lighting, lay a chamber filled with super spiders.

A circular machine rotated slowly in the room.

Its racks were covered with webs, crawling with spiders everywhere.

Fortunately, Xu Wang was brave.

Anyone afraid of bugs would have died of fright entering this room.

So many spiders—it was unclear which one bit Peter.

Or maybe any spider would do?

Xu Wang wasn’t sure but, following the principle of having come this far, he planned to catch all the spiders here.

If worried about choosing the wrong one,

then just take them all.

Xu Wang thought, “No wonder I’m myself; my problem-solving speed is unmatched.”

So, he spent some time and finally caught every spider in the room and stuffed them into his toolbox.

Before leaving, he didn’t forget to grab some of the strong spider silk Osborne Group had developed.

When Peter eventually became Spider-Man, this would help him avoid detours while developing his web-shooters.

Carrying his toolbox and ladder, Xu Wang exited the Osborne Group building safely and without incident.

Starting his car, Xu Wang headed to the hospital where Peter was admitted.

Because shootings were common in the U.S.,

hospitals here were among the world’s best at treating gunshot wounds.

Peter was lucky.

During the scuffle with the robber, the bullet only pierced the inner side of his left thigh.

If the gun had been aimed slightly differently,

Peter might have lost his life or suffered a broken thigh bone.

Neither was something Peter could accept.

Xu Wang had stayed at Osborne Group for quite a while.

By the time he arrived at the hospital, Peter’s surgery was already over.

Uncle Ben had also arrived there.

He was talking with two police officers.

One officer handed Uncle Ben a photo of a suspect.

Uncle Ben recognized the man immediately.

It was the long-haired man with sunglasses whom he had let slip during the chase of the Sandman.

This realization made Uncle Ben deeply regretful.

He never expected that after letting that sunglasses man escape,

he would harm his Peter.

Fortunately, Peter was unharmed.

Otherwise, Uncle Ben could never have forgiven himself for the rest of his life.

Even so, this incident strengthened a conviction in him.

Since fate had given him such extraordinary powers,

he should use them for something!

Uncle Ben stared at the suspect’s photo in his hand and resolved to start with this guy.

At that moment,

Xu Wang, carrying his toolbox, walked into the hospital room.

Watching the police leave, Xu Wang closed the door behind them.

Passing Uncle Ben, he intentionally lowered his voice and said with mock gravity, “The bigger the storm, the pricier the fish!”

“What?!”

Uncle Ben didn’t hear clearly.

Xu Wang ignored him and walked straight to Peter’s bedside.

Looking at Peter, who had just undergone surgery, he smiled: “Ready for a new beginning?”

“What?”

Peter was stunned, not knowing what trick Xu Wang was planning.

With a flourish, Xu Wang pulled back Peter’s blanket.

Then he opened his toolbox and dumped over a thousand spiders onto Peter!

In an instant, Peter’s entire body was covered with countless crawling spiders!

He froze in shock for a moment,

then burst out a sharp scream!

“Ahhhhhhh!!!”
