...Today I glanced at some reviews, and a friend said it was a complete mess... Gua Zi sincerely wants to ask, where exactly is it messy? Please enlighten me~~

Human civilization has been destroyed, and the entire world has plunged into chaos. There is no longer law, no longer civility; all morality is cast aside. Zombies devour humans, and the emergence of mutated beasts delivers a deadlier blow to humanity. The road ahead for mankind—where does it lead?

Snowflakes fell upon his shoulders as Yang Fan exhaled steady clouds of white breath, his gaze fixed ahead, ever alert, ears keen to every direction. He was vigilant, his attention split between what lay before him and the threats lurking nearby.

It was then that Yang Fan witnessed a startling scene: a dark row of shadowy figures surged from the distance, the earth trembling beneath their advance. Yang Fan sprang onto the roof of a truck, seeking a vantage point. From above, his expression changed drastically, a cold breath escaping his lips.

In the snowy expanse ahead, a black line appeared—an army of rampaging devil rats and savage hellhounds. Through the combined insight of Zombie's Eye and the True Hawk's Eye, Yang Fan estimated at least five hundred of them. The rampaging devil rats, a mutated beast, were dangerous enough, but the savage hellhounds were far worse. These beasts were small in size and possessed an extraordinarily keen sense of smell.

Within five hundred meters, they could detect any scent. Cruel and sadistic, they delighted in tormenting humans bit by bit, hence their name—savage hellhounds.

“The Baisheng Supermarket won’t hold out for long. We need to evacuate quickly,” Yang Fan muttered to himself as he moved towards his companion Zhu Liang, whose strength was the weakest. Yang Fan feared something might happen to him.

Upon arrival, he saw Zhu Liang locked in combat with a battered devil rat, himself bearing minor wounds. The other two survivors were jointly fighting another rat.

“Run! Don’t waste words,” Yang Fan appeared before Zhu Liang in a flash, slicing through the rat’s skull with the Thunderblade, then stowing the corpse in his backpack. He flung the Thunderblade into another rat’s head.

“Use the storage space in your backpack to take this rat—that’s our food,” Yang Fan shouted. He hadn’t expected so many devil rats and hellhounds to appear; it was nothing like his previous life. In the past, Baisheng Supermarket had only been overrun by Flame Sparrows and Fire Swans; after a few days, it was taken, but never by such a horde of mutated beasts.

“What’s happening?” Zhu Liang asked, still unaware. Yang Fan had no time to explain, only shouting, “Go find Chen Ming and Bai Chen. Meet up at Bai Chen’s location, understand?”

Calling this out, Yang Fan strode into the supermarket, heading straight for the second floor. Liu Xue was still there. Yang Fan knew he couldn’t save everyone, but he would never abandon his own.

“What’s wrong? Why did he rush in so frantically? Is he unable to handle the monsters outside?”

“If even he can’t stop them, are we doomed?”

---

“Run! Hurry, run! Quick, run!”
“We’re dead, dead for sure, this time we’re all dead. Quick, run, run!”

Seeing Yang Fan rush inside, panic broke out among the people. Their imaginations ran wild and, unfortunately, accurately. Yang Fan’s actions shattered their composure; chaos erupted. Soldiers were at a loss, a few firing their weapons without effect.

Thinking their fate was sealed, some people turned on the officers, fighting them. Men and women alike went mad, rioting and shouting. The turmoil was deafening. Soldiers frowned, and those upstairs—scouts and others hiding—began to rush down in panic.

“It’s bad, it’s bad! A massive horde of monsters is coming. We’re doomed, hurry, run, run!”
“It’s absolutely true! A black mass, hurry, run, run!”

Many upstairs—soldiers and civilians alike—had followed Yang Fan’s instructions and were now peering through windows and cracks, witnessing the surge of mutated beasts. The sight struck terror into their hearts.

Meanwhile, Yang Fan found Liu Xue. Without giving her a chance to speak, he opened the Maiden’s Painting and ushered her inside.

Once Liu Xue was safely within, Yang Fan leapt from the window.

Glass shattered as he jumped from the second floor, landing safely thanks to his agility. Snow continued to fall, and he could hear the panic of the people in Baisheng Supermarket behind him. Though his heart ached, Yang Fan knew he was no savior. He hurried to find Bai Chen and the others to regroup and escape.

When he reached their position, the hellhounds attacked.

Thunder rumbled.

Hundreds of devil rats, some the size of small cars, others as large as medium sedans, and a few as massive as trucks—the silver-level bosses—charged forward. Zack wasted no time dragging Chen Ming onto the wooden wagon. Yang Fan urged Zhu Liang and another apocalypse inheritor to join them.

All the women, including Fang Na and Bai Chen, were stored within the Maiden’s Painting.

---

A thunderous roar.

The main entrance was smashed open by devil rats, swarming inside like locusts.

---

“Help!” Some who couldn’t escape in time gasped, staring in shock at a devil rat the size of a car, its hideous face, blood-red eyes, filthy fur.

A scream.

The devil rats shrieked in excitement at the sight of so much food. One rat lunged first, pouncing into the crowd. Two people were crushed instantly, blood spraying everywhere. The rat then used its claw to burst a human skull, then stuffed it into its mouth.

Crunch, crunch, crunch.

The rat tore into the body, blood spattering, intestines spilling across the floor.

“Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!”
“We’re dead, dead for sure!”
“Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!”

The screams and cries echoed throughout Baisheng Supermarket.

The devil rats began to devour the survivors, voraciously feasting upon them. Then dozens of hellhounds arrived, each the size of a regular dog, their bodies jet black, teeth gleaming coldly, eyes blazing red.

One hellhound leaped, its claws sinking into a woman’s back.

“No, no, no...”

In ordinary times, her life might have been bright—her figure and looks would guarantee at least a decent match, perhaps a small business owner. But now... everything was coming to an end.

Before she could even process what was happening, agony exploded in her neck. A chunk of flesh, slick with blood, was torn away by the monstrous hellhound...
