Chapter 52: Nothing Found

"What? How could that be possible?" Zhang Fuzhong was both shocked and furious when he heard this. He turned to Xu Jianing and said, "President Xu, Gao Muqiu is Mayor Gao's beloved daughter, and I am quite familiar with the child disappearance case. It is absolutely impossible that Miss Gao is involved. You mustn't listen to this young man's nonsense."

Xu Jianing remained silent; truth be told, he was starting to regret coming here.

Zhou Shiqin, standing nearby, smiled and suggested, "If Miss Gao has nothing to do with this matter, then why not let us search?"

Zhang Fuzhong frowned slightly at her words and asked, "May I ask who you are?"

Xu Jianing quickly responded, "Allow me to introduce you. This is Zhou Shiqin, vice president of the Azure Dragon Society. The young man accusing Gao Muqiu is her younger brother."

Zhang Fugui explained, "Naturally, I'm protecting Mayor Gao's reputation. If you proceed, wouldn't that embarrass him?"

Zhou Shiqin smiled. "In that case, let us search. If we find nothing, we will leave and give Mayor Gao a proper explanation."

"We will be careful." Xu Jianing nodded slightly as Zhang Fuzhong agreed. He then gestured, and the large group of Azure Dragon Society members behind him surged into the manor.

After a long wait, the members emerged from the manor. The leading young man reported to Xu Jianing, "Vice President, we've searched thoroughly, but found nothing!"

"Did you search carefully?" Xu Jianing asked in a low voice.

"We checked every corner, but still nothing."

"Dismissed," Xu Jianing said quietly. He then turned to Jiang Xiaofei, his voice cold. "Have you anything more to say now?"

Jiang Xiaofei did not answer. He muttered softly, "How can this be? How could it not be her?"

"This is definitely a misunderstanding," Jiang Xiaofei said, about to rush in and search the manor himself.

But Zhou Shiqin stopped him.

Shaking her head, Zhou Shiqin soothed him, "I know you're anxious, but now is not the time for haste."

At this moment, Zhang Fuzhong spoke up, "I told you, it couldn't possibly be Miss Gao."

He then pointed at Jiang Xiaofei, his eyes filled with hatred. "It's clear this brat is slandering Miss Gao out of malice. President Xu, you must not shield him. He must be severely punished to clear Miss Gao's name."

Xu Jianing said nothing.

Seeing this, Zhang Fuzhong snorted coldly. "Don't think that being members of the Azure Dragon Society and the Canglong Society gives you free rein. When Mayor Gao returns, he will hold you accountable. You'd best be prepared!"

Zhou Shiqin frowned slightly, a hint of displeasure in her voice. "My brother will not be punished by others, and as I've said, I will give Mayor Gao an explanation regarding this matter."

Zhang Fuzhong, enraged, retorted, "Your protection of him will come to no good end, even if you are the vice president of the Canglong Society."

Zhou Shiqin ignored him and turned to Jiang Xiaofei. "Let's go," she said.

Jiang Xiaofei nodded and followed her away.

After Zhou Shiqin and Jiang Xiaofei departed, Xu Jianing, no longer willing to engage with Zhang Fuzhong, signaled and led the Azure Dragon Society members away in their vehicles.

Watching the departing cars, Zhang Fuzhong was furious. What kind of people were they, to ignore him so thoroughly?

Still fuming, he quickly took out his phone and called Gao Muqiu.

Almost immediately, Gao Muqiu’s voice came through, "Uncle Zhang, is something the matter?"

"What happened?" Gao Muqiu asked.

Zhang Fuzhong promptly explained what had just transpired.

"I understand. I’ll come back immediately. And don’t tell my father about this," Gao Muqiu replied.

"Why not?" Zhang Fuzhong asked.

"I don't want him to worry about me," Gao Muqiu said, then hung up. She rose and dashed out of the classroom.

After leaving the building, she ran to the parking lot and got into a Lamborghini, driving out of the school.

The moment the Lamborghini exited the school gates, a black Range Rover followed.

Meanwhile, at Fengshan Lake Community, after returning home, Jiang Xiaofei looked apologetically at Zhou Shiqin who was seated on the sofa. "I'm sorry, Zhou Sis, for dragging you into this trouble."

Zhou Shiqin smiled. "It’s nothing."

"But I just can’t let it go."

"Don’t worry. They’re no match for me. Still, you shouldn’t have acted so impulsively. Now Gao Muqiu will certainly be on guard, making it even harder to deal with her!"

As they discussed, Lin Xuan came down the stairs and asked with a smile, "What are you talking about?"

Lin Xuan suggested, "Just capture her directly. Why bother with all this trouble?"

"No," Zhou Shiqin shook her head.

Jiang Xiaofei shook his head as well.
