Chapter 76: Mutual Destruction?

Without needing Jiang Xiaofei’s reminder, Lan Lianshuang already understood the danger of those two forces colliding. In that instant, she activated the Ice Crystal Shuttle and left the area with Jiang Xiaofei.

But at that very moment, the fireball and the dragon pearl had already clashed, and an unimaginably terrifying wave of power swept out like a tidal surge. Under such force, the entire cave dwelling seemed on the verge of collapse, as if the earth itself were quaking. The sharp, pillar-like rocks shattered instantly.

Caught in the impact, Jiang Xiaofei and Lan Lianshuang were flung through the air and crashed heavily to the ground.

Fortunately, the protective dual aura of black and white, along with the Ice Crystal Shuttle blocking most of the fiery blast, saved their lives from immediate death.

Even so, they were still gravely wounded, coughing up blood.

After a long moment, Jiang Xiaofei struggled to his feet, clutching his chest, then reached down to help Lan Lianshuang up, asking with concern, “Are you alright?”

She coughed softly a few times. “I’m fine. And you?”

“I’m fine too.” With that, Jiang Xiaofei turned his gaze to the platform. The platform was utterly devastated, strewn with rubble, the ground crisscrossed with cracks from the recent destruction.

There, on either side of the platform, lay two figures in utter disarray.

Seeing this, Jiang Xiaofei’s heart leapt with joy and he grinned. “Looks like they’ve both suffered grievous wounds! Perfect, this works out in my favor.”

Lan Lianshuang frowned slightly. “What are you planning?”

“They’re already as good as dead. Of course I’m going to finish them off while I still can!” Jiang Xiaofei laughed coldly and headed toward the platform.

Lan Lianshuang hurried after him. “Be careful. If the Demon Emperor or the Demon Star still have some strength left, going up there recklessly is suicide.”

“We’ll assess the situation first. If things look bad, we’ll run. If we have the upper hand, we’ll strike them down while they’re weak,” Jiang Xiaofei replied, continuing forward.

On the shattered platform, the Demon Emperor and the Demon Star seemed to sense someone approaching. They opened their eyes and immediately sat up cross-legged, channeling their energy to heal their wounds.

When they saw Jiang Xiaofei and Lan Lianshuang—especially Lan Lianshuang—the Demon Emperor’s expression changed drastically, a look of deep wariness in his eyes. If it were before, he'd have had no fear, but now, severely injured and his strength greatly reduced, he could only steel himself and respond with caution.

He shouted coldly, “I never expected that the two who were tailing me would be you! Damn it, had I known, I would have eliminated you both earlier.”

Hearing this, Jiang Xiaofei let out a sigh of relief, then burst out laughing. “Too late for regrets! Now, let me send you on your way.”

The Demon Emperor’s face immediately darkened. “What do you intend to do?”

“Kill you, of course. An opportunity like this comes once in a lifetime. I won’t let it slip by, so I’ll do everything I can to finish you. Prepare to die, Demon Emperor.” Jiang Xiaofei’s eyes grew cold as he spoke, and with a flick of his palm, a seal imprinted with the dual forces of yin and yang appeared, which he then slammed down.

Sensing the immense power within the seal, the Demon Emperor’s expression grew grim. He quickly formed a seal with his hands, and a surge of blood energy erupted from his body, forming a shield around him to resist the force of the curse.

As the seal struck the shield, the very space trembled, but the shield did not break. Not even a single crack appeared; instead, it seemed to grow even stronger.

Seeing this, Jiang Xiaofei’s expression grew serious. He had clearly underestimated the Demon Emperor. He called out to Lan Lianshuang, “Attack with me! Let’s kill this bastard. I refuse to believe that, with the two of us together, his turtle shell can protect him forever.”

Hearing Jiang Xiaofei’s words, the Demon Emperor almost vomited blood from rage. He, the mighty Demon Emperor, had never suffered such humiliation. His face twisted in fury. “Boy, how dare you insult me! Once I recover, I’ll make you beg for death.”

“Screw you! You won’t get the chance.” Jiang Xiaofei cursed, then called to Lan Lianshuang, “Hurry! He’s regaining his strength—he’ll be up soon.”

Lan Lianshuang nodded slightly and summoned the Ice Crystal Shuttle. Instantly, the once-hot air grew icy cold.

Seeing the Ice Crystal Shuttle in her hand, the Demon Emperor’s wariness grew. He rapidly changed his hand seals, unleashing a surge of demonic power to further reinforce his shield until it was impregnable.

Seeing this, Jiang Xiaofei and Lan Lianshuang exchanged a glance and unleashed their powerful spells against the shield.

Under the combined assault of the yin-yang seal and the fierce cold currents, cracks began to appear in the shield.

Seeing this, the Demon Emperor was both shocked and furious. He shouted to Takagi Qiu, who was meditating nearby, “Ghost Emperor, hurry and help me fend off these two! Do you want to watch me die?”

Gripping the spear, he lunged at Jiang Xiaofei and Lan Lianshuang. The shadows of a thousand spears filled the air, leaving them no room to dodge, forcing them to fight back with all their strength.

At this moment, Demon Star watched as the Demon Emperor engaged Jiang Xiaofei and Lan Lianshuang, and finally breathed a sigh of relief. She pressed her palms together, focusing on healing her wounds. If one looked closely, golden phoenix fire patterns shimmered around her, the flowing flames aiding her recovery.

Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaofei and Lan Lianshuang had battled the Demon Emperor for dozens of rounds, slowly losing their initial advantage and being forced onto the defensive.

With a tremor of spear light, the very air quaked.

Under the Demon Emperor’s fierce assault, Jiang Xiaofei and Lan Lianshuang were sent flying back.

Looking up at the Demon Emperor, who loomed above with spear in hand, both felt a sense of disbelief. The Demon Emperor was growing stronger with each battle—the situation was hopeless, and if this went on, they might not just lose but be killed.

Realizing this, their expressions turned grave.

Jiang Xiaofei shouted, “Retreat!”

But just as the words left his mouth, Demon Star, who had been seated on the platform, suddenly opened her eyes and burst out laughing. “Trying to run? You must be dreaming. Since you’re all here, why not stay forever? Hahahaha!”

Hearing her voice, not only did Jiang Xiaofei and Lan Lianshuang’s faces change, but even the Demon Emperor and Takagi Qiu turned pale with shock.

In that instant, everyone tried to flee.

Demon Star laughed madly. “Fools! You can’t escape my grasp. The more you struggle, the faster you die!”

“Hahaha!”

“Phoenix Domain!”

With those low, resonant words, everyone felt an immense pressure descend. The space around them was sealed tight, shattering any hopes of breaking through to escape.
