Jiang Yang pulled his feet back slightly. After all, he was a married man now; he had to be a bit more careful when interacting with other women.

Still, answering a single question shouldn't be an issue. Besides, he was seeking her advice as a psychologist without paying a fee—it was essentially a freebie. No, "freebie" wasn't quite right; she was a professional doctor, not someone for him to take advantage of.

Wait, no—damn it, Jiang Yang, where is your mind wandering just because you're looking at her long legs? Remind yourself again: you are a man with a wife!

He quickly brushed these stray thoughts aside and straightened up. "Alright, Dr. Yang, go ahead and ask."

Yang Xiaoran covered her mouth and giggled, looking as lovely as a budding narcissus. She pointed a finger as white and delicate as a jade shoot at Jiang Yang, then at herself. "Suppose you and a beautiful woman are stranded on a desert island, and there is only enough food for two people to survive for three days. What would you choose?"

"A: Spend three days of unbridled pleasure with the beauty, then starve to death together."
"B: Kill the beauty so you can survive for six days, giving yourself a chance to live."
"C: Give all the food to the beauty, then jump into the sea and end your life."

Jiang Yang frowned. Why didn't she just say it was him and her stranded on the island? Furthermore, this question felt like a trap no matter how he looked at it. Since it was just a hypothetical, however, it didn't really matter how he answered.

He said casually, "I'll choose A. Any normal man would choose A—have a good time before dying."

Yang Xiaoran parted her ruby lips and spat out two words: "Beast."

Jiang Yang tried again: "Then I'll choose B. Decisive and ruthless—surviving on the island is what matters most."

Yang Xiaoran's expression turned displeased. "Worse than a beast."

Jiang Yang frowned. "So, I'll choose C then?"

Yang Xiaoran let out a cold hum. "No desire at all—that's even worse than being worse than a beast."

Jiang Yang’s mouth twitched. He threw caution to the wind and said, "Fine, since there's no hope of living on the island anyway, instead of starving to death, I'd rather hold the beauty and jump into the sea together."

Upon hearing this, Yang Xiaoran’s previously gloomy face instantly broke into a smile. She rested her chin in her hand again and leaned her upper body toward him. "Do you really think that?"

Jiang Yang’s eye twitched. Damn, what kind of logic does this woman have? She gave him three choices, yet insisted he pick something else entirely. And why, after looking so sullen a moment ago, was she back to nudging him with her high heel?

Jiang Yang cleared his throat and took a sip of water from the glass on the table. "Dr. Yang, I was in a car accident and suffered a concussion that caused brain damage. I can't remember a lot of things. Could you tell me how we met?"

Yang Xiaoran stared at Jiang Yang with her beautiful eyes, a complex array of emotions hidden within her gaze. "I was hosting a psychological consultation livestream online, and you tipped me to become a fan. I saw how supportive you were, so I chatted with you a bit. You told me about some troubles in your life, and we talked more. Later, we felt that chatting online wasn't enough, so we met in person. We hit it off, and one thing led to another—we became good friends."

Jiang Yang’s mouth twitched. He felt she had omitted many key details. Where in the world was there such a good deal? You spend a pittance to become a fan and get to know a beautiful psychologist, and she even takes you out to eat regularly? He had just sneaked a peek at the menu prices—a plate of tofu was over a hundred, and the other small dishes added up to over a thousand. This wasn't something he could afford on a monthly salary of less than six thousand. If it were him treating someone, he’d go for a pork trotter rice bowl. It was clear that Dr. Yang was likely the one footing the bill.

But if they were just friends who met up to chat, why would he have forgotten her?

"Dr. Yang, are we just ordinary friends? Nothing special ever happened between us, right?" Jiang Yang asked tentatively.

Yang Xiaoran nodded with a smile. "That's right, we are ordinary friends."

Jiang Yang breathed a slight sigh of relief—if they were just ordinary friends, it meant he wasn't a scumbag. But Yang Xiaoran added, "The kind of ordinary friends who have slept together."

He nearly spat out the soup he had just taken into his mouth. These "ordinary friends" certainly seemed affectionate.

"We... we've slept together?" Jiang Yang felt his understanding of the term "ordinary friend" had been completely refreshed.

Yang Xiaoran gave a light laugh. "Actually, it's nothing. Once, you fell asleep in my clinic. I was a bit tired too, and since the bed in my clinic is wide, I just lay down next to you and took a nap."

Jiang Yang’s mouth twitched. "You were quite 'casual' about it... Did... did anything actually happen?" He didn't know if anything *should* have happened with a stunning woman lying next to him, but it felt like something *should* have.

"No, we just slept together, that's all," Yang Xiaoran said dismissively, though she didn't seem interested in sharing any details.

Jiang Yang couldn't press her on how long they slept, whether they shared a blanket, or how many times it happened. He shifted the focus back to his amnesia. "After my accident, I developed a concussion and can't remember many things. Do you know what happened before the crash?"

Hearing his question, Yang Xiaoran’s expression turned playful. "Of course I do. That night, you went out to find a woman."

"A woman?" Jiang Yang tensed up. Could it be his wife, Wang Ruolan?

"Exactly." Yang Xiaoran leaned forward, and a pair of heavy mounds rested naturally on the table.

"Why was I going to find that woman?" Jiang Yang couldn't help but glance at the deep cleavage she was displaying. It wasn't that he had bad intentions, but what normal man wouldn't want to examine such a deep canyon?

"You were going to confess your love to a woman," Yang Xiaoran said, raising her glass for a sip while her gaze remained fixed on him.

"I was going to confess to a woman?" Jiang Yang repeated. Wang Ruolan had told him they were already married before the accident, so who else would he be confessing to?
