As soon as she finished speaking, Jiang Yang felt a warmth on his face; Su Muyun had just planted a kiss on his cheek.

She hooked her arms around his neck and whispered into his ear, "I won't force you on this matter. I'll give you a month. Once you've thought it through, come find me at the Melody Harbor Bar."

Her voice was as tender as a devoted wife’s, completely stripped of the aura she had projected just moments before. When a woman like her spoke in such a tone, it was difficult for any man to refuse.

Jiang Yang thought to himself, *'Some "not forcing me." You had two thugs drag me into a car and demanded I consider marrying you without giving me a chance to speak. What a thoughtful "big sister" you are.'*

"No, can you just listen to my explanation? I’m already married. I have a wife," Jiang Yang insisted, feeling it was crucial to clear this up so she wouldn't keep waiting for his answer.

Upon hearing that he had a wife, Su Muyun smiled faintly. "Are you trying to use that teacher to trick me again?"

*Teacher? What teacher?*

He could only recall the "teachers" from Japanese adult films he had watched in the past; he could even remember their serial numbers and plotlines, but he truly could not recall any teacher they kept referring to.

"It's not her, it's..."

Su Muyun gently patted his face and said softly, "Enough, I don't want to hear any more excuses. You can no longer avoid the matter of us getting married. Think it over carefully—it would be best not to disappoint me."

She didn't specify the consequences of disappointing her, but Jiang Yang couldn't help but worry if he might end up being thrown into the sea to feed the fish.

Just then, the car came to a stop. Looking out the window, he saw they had arrived at the Sunlight Apartments. The flat-topped man from earlier got out and opened the door for him.

Glancing back at Su Muyun, who was watching him with a radiant smile, he decided that she clearly wasn't in the mood to listen to his explanations right now. It would be better to clarify his marital status later, perhaps when he could appear in front of her with Wang Ruolan.

Jiang Yang stepped out of the car and said, "Sister Su, I'll head up now..."

Su Muyun’s face darkened with displeasure. "How many times do I have to tell you? Call me Sister Muyun. 'Sister Su' is what my subordinates call me."

"Alright, Sister Muyun..."

Before he could finish, Su Muyun interrupted him. "I know you want to spend more time with me, but the people from the Green Stone Society are coming to S City tonight to talk business, so I can't be with you."

Jiang Yang’s mouth twitched. Was it really that difficult for this woman to let him finish a single sentence?

However, she had mentioned meeting the Green Stone Society tonight. Was this some kind of underworld negotiation where they’d draw blades at the slightest disagreement?

She seemed kind enough to him, even giving him a ride home, so out of politeness, he said, "Alright, Sister Muyun. Be careful tonight."

A faint blush crept onto Su Muyun’s cheeks. "It’s been over half a month, and you still care about me so much. Don't worry, it's just business."

She blew him a kiss, and under her tender, watery gaze, the flat-topped man closed the car door.

Jiang Yang then realized he didn't even have her contact information; if he wanted to find her, he would have to go to the Melody Harbor Bar. That was a place where he had worked a part-time job in the past, but why did she want him to meet her there?

Standing on the roadside watching the car drive away, Jiang Yang sighed. He had only been at work for one day, and already two women had come looking for him. And that "teacher" person—she might show up to check in on him at any moment. Just how many emotional debts had he racked up before losing his memory?

He checked the time; it wasn't even seven o'clock yet.

*Thankfully, even with the delay on the road, I'm arriving at about the usual time. Has Ruolan gotten home yet?*

At the thought of his gentle, beautiful wife who treated him like a treasure, the corners of his mouth lifted involuntarily. With such a wonderful wife, why would he want to get tangled up with other women?

However, after today’s experience, Ruolan’s identity felt even more mysterious. She was his wife, yet why did no one else seem to know her? Even if they didn't know her, surely he would have mentioned her to someone? But he hadn't—not once!

There was another strange thing: whenever he spoke to his mother on the phone, Ruolan would intentionally or unintentionally tell him not to mention that they were together, and especially not to mention that they were living abroad. She claimed that because their whirlwind marriage had been so fast, she was afraid his mother’s traditional mindset wouldn't accept it, and that they should explain the situation later when they could visit in person.

At the time, Jiang Yang had thought it was a bit odd, but he hadn't dwelled on it. Now, the more he thought about it, the more wrong it felt.

Ever since she took him abroad, she had essentially cut off his contact with people back home. Later, she was even more adamant about not letting him return to the country, fearing he would discover these inconsistencies.

He couldn't understand it. Even if such a perfect wife had flaws, he could have tolerated them. Why did she have to make everything so secretive?

He had once wondered if he was the illegitimate son of a gambling tycoon, and she was just trying to "borrow his seed" to inherit millions. That was a joke, of course—his own father was a degenerate gambler who had run off years ago after burying them in debt, leaving Jiang Yang and his mother to be hounded by creditors.

To pay off those debts, Jiang Yang had worked his regular job during the day and several part-time jobs on the side, finally clearing the mess. As for his mother, she was just a laid-off worker from a small county, scraping by with odd jobs. His family had always lived a hand-to-mouth existence.

He was certain he didn't have some secret, wealthy uncle who could suddenly appear and provide his mother with a life of luxury. Furthermore, based on his observations, money was the one thing Ruolan was never short of; she definitely wasn't after his money.

The only possibility was that she was after his body, and on that point, Jiang Yang had quite a bit of confidence. He was 1.8 meters tall, sunny and handsome, and popular with women. Plus, he had great core strength; thanks to his regular exercise, he had six well-defined abs and could do five hundred sit-ups in one go.

He believed Ruolan was very satisfied with him during this time, as he always managed to fulfill her needs completely.

But that still didn't explain why she was always so evasive, acting as if she were doing something illicit. Even though she was his wife, she always gave the impression that they were having an affair.

Regardless, he had missed her throughout the day. He wondered if she had a delicious dinner waiting for him.

He used to be a lone wolf, coming back to an empty house to play games or sleep. Now, the feeling of having someone waiting for him was truly wonderful.

He specifically found a piece of glass downstairs to check his reflection and wiped his cheeks—he had to be careful, lest Ruolan get jealous.

After tidying himself up, he arrived at his door.

The moment he opened it, a dark figure lunged at him, pinning him against the wall.

Wang Ruolan’s jade-like hands hooked around his neck, her beautiful eyes staring intently at him from close range. "Why are you five minutes late? Don't tell me you’re going to say you were working overtime?"

Jiang Yang gave a sheepish laugh. "I was just held up on the road. It’s only five minutes, isn't it?"

A cold glint flashed in Wang Ruolan’s eyes as she leaned in to sniff him. "Oh? Held up, were you? Could it be that you ran into someone on the road? Or perhaps... some woman?"
