Bai Chenxi was still wondering who had sent the breakfast! She appeared herself.

Chu Muyun said, "Today's breakfast, is it enough to make up for the meal from last night?"

Bai Chenxi asked, "Did you deliver the crew's breakfast?"

Chu Muyun replied, "Yes! After all, I can't let someone claim that I only take advantage."

Bai Chenxi looked at him and laughed heartily. She glanced up at Xia Yu and said, "Xia Yu, go distribute the breakfast to everyone. Just say it was my treat."

Xia Yu felt curious, but seeing Xia Yan nearby, she held her tongue. Xia Yan was equally puzzled about who had brought the meal, whether it was the person from the previous night.

Yet he had no right to inquire. After a brief word with Bai Chenxi, he departed. As the old saying goes, a mouthful of food shortens the mouth and a soft hand is hard to refuse.

The crew members who had enjoyed Bai Chenxi's breakfast found it awkward to continue gossiping. At least outwardly, things had settled into a fragile calm.

Bai Chenxi carried the early meal to the director, who accepted it and eyed her. "With your talent, you should avoid stirring up trouble."

The director had clearly seen the online news. Though his tone was sharp, concern lingered beneath it.

Spotting Tang Ziyu in the distance, Bai Chenxi felt a wave of inexplicable guilt. Moments earlier, Jiang Jize had called her repeatedly, nearly prompting her to block the number in panic.

Through prolonged indirect probing, Jiang Jize had finally revealed his intent: to test Tang Ziyu's reaction. He had even uttered the words, "I simply wanted to see if she regretted it."

Bai Chenxi stole a glance at Tang Ziyu. The woman chatted and laughed as usual, radiating no sign of regret, perhaps even feeling quite pleased.

Weighing Jiang Jize's feelings, Bai Chenxi chose her words with utmost delicacy. Yet Jiang Jize wore a look of satisfaction and asked, "Got it?"

Bai Chenxi blinked. "I told you Tang Ziyu is the same as ever. What exactly have you learned that makes you so joyful?"

Jiang Jize's thoughts ran along different lines: If she is the same as before, that must mean she is jealous. How could she remain unaffected after seeing the news? It was jealousy, of course, and she was merely pretending not to care.

Though Jiang Jize had overstepped, Bai Chenxi refused to behave as recklessly. After deep thought, she decided she must find an opportunity to explain everything to Tang Ziyu. She could not allow her to remain in misunderstanding and hostility.

Bai Chenxi believed her accumulated enmities were already sufficient; one less would do. Wasn't this an opportunity?

She approached Tang Ziyu bearing the early meal.

"Ziyu, this is for you."

"Thank you." Tang Ziyu accepted the parcel with a polite nod and then said nothing more.

Bai Chenxi glanced about cautiously and sat down as though carrying a guilty conscience. Although Tang Ziyu said nothing, she shifted her seat and moved naturally closer to Bai Chenxi.

Bai Chenxi leaned in and whispered, "Ziyu, I and Jiang Jize truly have nothing. All of it was a misunderstanding, and that person was not Jiang Jize."

Tang Ziyu did not alter her expression in the slightest. "What exactly are you trying to say?"

"This is not about you and Jiang Jize..." Before Bai Chenxi could finish, Tang Ziyu's gaze locked onto her. "What did I do with him?"

Bai Chenxi swallowed nervously, her survival instinct kicking in as she feigned ignorance. "Nothing, nothing happened. I know nothing."

She stood abruptly and fled. Heavens! She was terrifying, and clearly not to be trifled with.

Halfway across the distance, Bai Chenxi gritted her teeth and returned to add, "It has nothing to do with you. I only wanted to say that I and Jiang Jize have no relation."

Watching Bai Chenxi's retreating figure, Tang Ziyu smiled, an expression she rarely showed. This woman truly displayed everything on her face. No wonder she had performed the act of pouring water on Meng Ling.

If Bai Chenxi learned of this, she would surely complain, "Why does everyone say I am too straightforward or domineering?"

The assistant observed Tang Ziyu smiling and grew curious. Since arriving at the crew, Tang Ziyu's attitude toward Bai Chenxi had always been peculiar.

"Sister, why did Bai Chenxi come to explain to you? She must have been stirring up drama by pretending to clarify."

Tang Ziyu frowned at the assistant. "We should not interfere in others' affairs. Do you still require me to teach you the principle that disasters arise from the mouth?"

The assistant received the rebuke and fell silent.

Overall, Bai Chenxi found the day surprisingly comfortable. Let Meng Ling be as mischievous as she pleased online; out of sight meant out of mind.

Tang Ziyu, though still carrying her usual imposing presence, no longer deliberately made things difficult for her.

As for Xia Yan, he no longer dodged her at first sight.

The director still wore an occasional scowl, yet compared to his initial days on set, everything was vastly improved.

Bai Chenxi sat in her chair, surveying the crew with a sense of satisfaction. Her heart swelled with heroic grandeur, and the only thought that crossed her mind was: Look, this is the kingdom I have conquered.

Having fully indulged her dramatic impulses, Bai Chenxi soon encountered Lin Yue, who proved even more theatrical than she.

Bai Chenxi glanced over lazily. "Why have you come?"

"You look like you do not welcome me. Then I will leave." Lin Yue advanced, still turning back to watch her.

Seeing no sign of reluctance, she turned around again, complaining, "Can't you at least cooperate with me?"

Only then did Bai Chenxi seem to notice Lin Yue. She greeted her warmly. "Oh! How is our Brother Yue here? Please sit quickly. How could I let you stand? You've worked hard."

Lin Yue accepted the invitation smoothly. "Very discerning. This king's heart is most gratified!"

"Enough already. What brings you here?"

Lin Yue struck a pose as though she were about to be beaten. "Guess?"

Bai Chenxi waved her off. "Forget it, I'm not saying."

Lin Yue could not contain herself and leaned close. "How did yesterday's matter unfold?"

"I said why didn't you call yesterday to gossip! It seems you old man decided to pay a visit early today."

Lin Yue touched Bai Chenxi's shoulder. "Quickly tell me!"

Bai Chenxi ignored her.

Lin Yue glanced about and said deliberately, "Hey! The young, tender meat sitting there is none other than Xia Yan, the hero who rescues the beauty. Not bad, still fits your fangirling perfectly."

Lin Yue patted Bai Chenxi's arm excitedly. "And beside him is Mo Li! Handsome is his acting strength, and he has no scandals. If I remember correctly, he is still your wall hugger!"

With an ambiguous tone, Lin Yue added, "What do you think? Should you consider it? Embracing the god back would be the pinnacle of a fan's life!"

Bai Chenxi watched Lin Yue grow more animated and finally surrendered. "That person is Chu Muyun."

Lin Yue looked at her with disappointment. "Bai Chenxi, I thought you had awakened to the beautiful world of men and flowers. I never expected you to remain stuck on that crooked-neck tree, planning to hang yourself there?"

"Curved-neck tree, Chu Muyun?" Bai Chenxi asked. "Are you serious? Chu Muyun is no crooked-neck tree. At worst, he would be a handsome one."

Lin Yue gazed at her as if viewing a sister about to be abducted. "You still argue? He is good for you, yet he remains a crooked-neck tree. With your intellect, won't you be devoured by him?"

"How am I being devoured? He listens to me." Bai Chenxi declared proudly, oblivious to the direction of the conversation. She forgot to deny any relationship with Chu Muyun and instead focused on who listened to whom between the two.

"You are certain?" Lin Yue's voice dripped with teasing. "Chu Muyun listens to Bai Chenxi, just like a child declaring he will save the world."

Bai Chenxi remained unperturbed. "Of course. At least he eats according to my words."
