Volume One, Chapter Six: Su Wanyue Says I Am Traveling in Sanya
Driven by curiosity, I followed them inside.
As soon as I entered, Su Wanyue stood proudly on the stage, basking in everyone’s attention as she accepted the gold award.
The crowd erupted in applause.
From the depths of their hearts, many envied her: “Miss Su is not only beautiful, but her design talent is extraordinary. If she participates in the international competition three months from now, she will surely bring honor to our country!”
“I heard this design received nine points from five experts!”
“Wow, Miss Tang is incredible! She’s my goddess!”
“I heard Miss Tang is none other than the renowned Master Xingyue!”
Master Xingyue?
I had been distracted, but the moment I heard that name, it was like being struck by lightning—I abruptly raised my head!
When I looked closely at the jewelry design that Su Wanyue had won the award for, I realized it was a piece I had hidden in a drawer years ago.
Su Wanyue had plagiarized my work and incorporated it into her design.
That was clearly a design I created at eighteen, my graduation project!
But since my teacher had moved abroad years earlier, no one present knew it was mine.
Someone in the crowd excitedly asked, “Miss Su, are you really the idol Master Xingyue? Your style is so similar—it’s exactly the same!”
I sneered inwardly. Of course it would be the same if she copied it.
Originally, Su Wanyue had no intention of mentioning this.
Everyone present was a jewelry designer, and the title “Master Xingyue” had been completely retired by me after I got married.
Master Xingyue was a legend in the jewelry design world!
Countless people had spent millions before my marriage commissioning my designs.
For love, I had given up my future.
Looking back now, I realize how foolish I was.
“Miss Su, answer us! Are you really Master Xingyue or not?”
Fu Hanzhou furrowed his brows. Although he didn’t understand jewelry design, he had heard the name Master Xingyue before. Could it really be Wanyue?
He stood beneath the stage, a glimmer of hope shining in his eyes as he stared at Su Wanyue: “Wanyue, could it be that you are...”
Su Wanyue’s expression stiffened, though no one noticed.
After a moment, she took the microphone from the host and smiled brightly at the cameras, lying without a hint of nervousness: “Yes, I am Master Xingyue. I hadn’t planned to reveal it, but I didn’t expect my fans to recognize me.”
The designers present accepted their defeat to Master Xingyue wholeheartedly!
Many even stepped forward to ask for her autograph.
Su Wanyue played the part perfectly, and some even sent requests for custom commissions.
A wealthy socialite who was a loyal fan of Master Xingyue, dressed lavishly and clearly either rich or noble, approached: “Miss Su, I’m willing to spend tens of millions commissioning a jewelry design from you. What do you say?”
She was sincere.
However, Su Wanyue was displeased.
She had only a few designs left in her hands.
To maintain the illusion of brilliance and win awards, she had squandered most of Tang Xing’s designs. These few remaining pieces were all she had left. Tens of millions meant nothing to her; she only wanted the honor and glory to marry Fu Hanzhou.
Mrs. Fu’s worth far exceeded tens of millions.
She knew exactly what mattered more.
“Sorry, I’ve been busy dating my boyfriend lately, so I probably won’t have time.”
The socialite looked disappointed.
People around asked eagerly, “Master Xingyue, who is your boyfriend?”
Su Wanyue stepped off the stage and stood beside Fu Hanzhou, introducing him to the cameras: “My boyfriend, Fu Hanzhou.”
Fu Hanzhou frowned. He hadn’t expected Su Wanyue to suddenly call on him, and instantly all the media cameras focused on his face.
He was not pleased.
Some reporters recognized him: “Hey? Mr. Fu, isn’t your girlfriend Miss Tang Xing?”
“Miss Su, you’re not lying, are you?”
Everyone turned their cameras to Su Wanyue’s face. She looked to Fu Hanzhou for help.
I also looked at him!
There was hope in my eyes. We were secretly married; only a few knew Fu Hanzhou was married.
Unable to resist her gentle, vulnerable gaze, Fu Hanzhou said to the media: “Tang Xing is my sister; Su Wanyue is my girlfriend.”
My face went pale, and I bit my lip hard.
It felt like a brutal slap in the face, burning painfully.
Sister?
I wanted to cry, but there were no tears.
We had been married for five years and had children.
Yet she was just a sister. I thought letting go of hope would ease the pain.
But even as a soul, my heart still felt like it was being cut apart.
Fu Hanzhou and Su Wanyue received everyone’s blessings and left the design conference together.
At the exit, I unexpectedly locked eyes with Fu Tingxiao.
Fu Tingxiao glanced coldly at Su Wanyue beside him, his gaze piercing and icy.
Fu Hanzhou broke out in a cold sweat.
“Big Brother?”
Fu Tingxiao leaned on his black and gold dragon cane, exuding an overwhelming aura that demanded submission.
Su Wanyue also stiffened in fear and called out shakily:
“B-Big Brother.”
Fu Tingxiao looked down on her disdainfully, as if she were an ant, sneering: “In what capacity do you call me Big Brother? Mistress or homewrecker?”
Su Wanyue wobbled, nearly falling.
Fu Hanzhou quickly steadied her and shot a disapproving look at Fu Tingxiao: “Big Brother, you’re going too far! Wanyue suffers from depression; are you trying to scare her to death?”
Fu Tingxiao’s gaze returned to Fu Hanzhou’s face, looking down on him like a noble emperor.
“Too far? Your wife has been missing for five days, yet instead of searching for her, you’re here with your mistress attending a design conference. Isn’t that far worse?”
His words left Fu Hanzhou speechless.
“Tang Xing is perfectly fine; maybe she’s enjoying herself somewhere. Wanyue has depression and needs me!”
A wave of sorrow filled my heart.
My long-lost older brother cared so deeply for me, while my husband, five days after my disappearance, was holding his mistress and publicly declaring their relationship.
“If Tang Xing really died, would you regret it?”
Fu Hanzhou froze, his face drained of color.
Su Wanyue quickly stepped in: “Big Brother, this must be a misunderstanding! Sister Tang Xing even sent me photos yesterday. She’s at the beach in Sanya. Look, here’s the chat record!”
Fu Hanzhou was stunned: “The chat record? Show me!”
He hurriedly opened the chat history to check.
The messages were from yesterday afternoon; my WeChat had sent photos and videos.
But why had they been sent only to Su Wanyue?
Soon, I found the answer.
The last message read: “As long as I don’t divorce, you’ll always be the mistress that no one can acknowledge.”
Those words were heartfelt—I had thought them in my heart before.
But how could I, a dead woman, have sent chat messages?
Clearly, the killer used my phone to create the illusion that I was still alive, deceiving everyone.
Su Wanyue added fuel to the fire: “Brother Hanzhou, Sister Tang Xing must have wanted to make us worry while she enjoys herself outside. You’ve been up all night worrying about her. She’s so irresponsible! She went to Sanya without even informing you.”
