“Did that man really cripple Brother Leopard with just one slap?”
“That’s impossible! Brother Leopard trained under the Grand Boss. He could even take down a wild beast!”
“Everyone, attack together! We outnumber him. Kill the bastard!”
The remaining thugs roared and charged.
Ye Yun remained expressionless. With a flick of his foot, the bloodstained baseball bat sprang into the air and landed in his hand.
Then Ye Yun plunged into the crowd like a tiger among sheep.
He hacked!
Swept!
Smashed!
Every blow drew blood. Miserable screams and anguished wails erupted all around.
With a dull thud, the last thug was sent flying by Ye Yun and crashed straight into the river.
In less than ten seconds, nearly thirty enforcers from East City had all been defeated.
“President, he’s so handsome!” the young secretary cried involuntarily, covering her mouth.
Susan’s heart trembled. This man really did seem to be quite powerful.
Compared with him, Cheng Lei was nothing but an empty show.
Dropping the bat, Ye Yun curled his lip. “You were even thinking about taking my wife’s panties and bra?”
“Damn it, even I don’t have that kind of luck, let alone trash like you.”
Any favorable impression Susan had just begun to form vanished instantly, leaving only shame and fury.
“Ye Yun, what are you muttering through that filthy mouth of yours?”
Ye Yun looked bewildered. “Huh? Did I say anything? I don’t think so.”
Susan glared at him resentfully, pulled out her phone, and called for people to come to the dock and collect the shipment.
Then she looked him up and down.
“Have you studied martial arts?”
Ye Yun shrugged. “A little. You could say I’ve trained some.”
Susan nodded. “Fine. From now on, you’re my personal bodyguard.”
Ye Yun smiled. “Personal bodyguard? Sure. But exactly how personal?”
Susan’s expression turned cold. “How personal do you want it to be?”
“I’ll pay you every month. Don’t think I’m taking advantage of you.”
“But as for anything else, you’d better not even think about it.”
Ye Yun waved his hand. “Forget the money. I’m not interested.”
“I’ll protect you until the child is born.”
Susan frowned, not quite understanding what he meant.
But she was proud by nature and had no intention of asking.
“Susan, where is that damned live-in son-in-law of yours?”
Her uncle, Su Qiang, had called. His furious roar came through the phone.

“Bring that worthless bastard to me! I’ll skin him alive!”
Susan frowned. “Uncle, Ye Yun doesn’t seem to have provoked you. What gives you the right to insult him?”
Su Qiang roared, “He didn’t provoke me, but that little bastard beat up my son!”
“Su Jian is in the hospital fighting for his life. Whether he can keep his manhood is still uncertain.”
“Susan, I’m warning you. I’ll make that live-in son-in-law of yours pay with his life for my son!”
Susan snorted. “Pay with his life? Uncle, aren’t you going too far?”
“Besides, Ye Yun said he never touched Su Jian from the beginning.”
“Su Jian was injured by the vicious dog he raised.”
Su Qiang exploded with rage. “That bastard makes it sound so innocent.”
“If he hadn’t tampered with the dog, would Su Jian’s own pet have bitten its master?”
“Susan, take my advice. You’d better not protect that good-for-nothing.”
“Otherwise, don’t blame your uncle for turning against his own family.”
After shouting those words, he hung up without another word, his attitude domineering to the extreme.
Susan rubbed her aching temples and looked at Ye Yun. “I told you, you’ve caused me a huge disaster.”
“Su Qiang’s entire family is coming after you now.”
Ye Yun replied indifferently, “Good. I’ll wipe them out while I’m at it.”
Susan snapped, “Ye Yun, can you act normal for once?”
“Wipe them out? Do you think you’re some underworld kingpin?”
“Or do you think knowing a few martial-arts moves means you can do whatever you please?”
The young secretary chimed in, “That’s right, Brother Ye Yun. You should be careful.”
“Your uncle’s family throws their weight around in the Su Corporation. Hardly anyone dares to cross them.”
Ye Yun dismissed her concern. “What’s there to worry about? Su Qiang is looking for me, isn’t he?”
“Fine, then. I’ll go to the hospital and see him. Let’s see what he can do.”
Susan looked deeply worried. “You can’t settle this yourself. I’ll handle it.”
“Yujie, wait here for our people to arrive and take away the cargo.”
“Ye Yun and I will go to the hospital first and see what’s happening.”
The young secretary quickly nodded. “Yes, President.”
“Brother Ye Yun, don’t be afraid. Those moves you made just now were really handsome.”
The newly graduated university student had unknowingly developed a much better impression of Ye Yun.
Susan shot her a cold look. “Zhao Yujie, since you think he’s so handsome, why don’t you go with him?”
The young secretary’s face flushed, and she looked wronged.
She had no idea why the president was suddenly reacting so strongly.
“Let’s go!”
After calling to Ye Yun, the female executive climbed into the car with an unhappy expression.
Ye Yun followed innocently.
Before getting in, he did not forget to smile at the secretary. “Little Yujie, you’re very pretty too. See you later.”
Susan stomped hard on the accelerator, and the car shot forward.
Ye Yun glanced at her, unable to understand what had gotten into this woman.

“Heh. One handsome, the other beautiful.”
Susan gripped the steering wheel tightly and sneered.
“Ye Yun, you’re quite something.”
“On your very first day at work, you’ve already won over my secretary.”
“At this rate, you might even manage to seduce the innocent little Zhao Yujie.”
Ye Yun shrugged. “I can tell she’s a good girl.”
“Too bad I’m already married.”
Susan sneered. “That’s all right. Although you and I are married in name, we’re not husband and wife in reality.”
“If you really like her, go ahead and have your fun. I don’t care.”
Ye Yun replied casually, “Sure. You said it yourself.”
Susan secretly seethed. What an utter bastard.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the hospital.
From a distance, Su Wen and his wife, Yang Huiru, were waiting outside the entrance.
“Shanshan, how could you bring that clueless idiot here?” Yang Huiru pointed at Ye Yun and flew into a rage. “Don’t you know that fool is in serious trouble?”
“Your uncle’s family will never let him off.”
Susan said, “Mom, I know.”
“I’ll handle this.”
Yang Huiru warned her, “Are you stupid? I forbid you to get involved.”
Su Wen added, “Shanshan, your position is sensitive. You shouldn’t confront your uncle directly.”
“This matter has become far too serious.”
“I heard Su Jian may be disabled for the rest of his life.”
A strained smile appeared on Susan’s face. “Dad, Mom, you should go home for now.”
“I know what I’m doing.”
As Yang Huiru walked away, she continued to warn her, “Shanshan, don’t interfere.”
“That little security guard brought this on himself. Let him deal with it.”
“Your uncle even brought several bodyguards to the hospital.”
“It’s obvious he intends to take real action.”
After her parents left, Ye Yun said, “Susan, you should leave too.”
“I’m the one who did this. The person who started it should finish it. I’ll take care of everything.”
Susan said impatiently, “Shut up. If I leave, Su Qiang will cripple you for certain.”
“My uncle is a smiling tiger. He’s no simple man.”
The two of them arrived outside the operating room, where Su Qiang and Su Xuan were waiting with several black-clad bodyguards, already furious.
The moment Su Qiang saw Ye Yun, he waved viciously.
“Beat him!”
“Break both his arms and legs first. Then I’ll crush the bastard’s head myself.”
