Just as several burly men in black were about to strike with lethal intent, Susan snapped coldly, “Wait a moment.”

“Uncle, on behalf of Ye Yun, I offer you my apologies,” she said.

Su Qiang’s face twisted with rage. “Apologies? Susan, your brother Su Jian is in the emergency room.”

“Do you think an apology will do any good?”

Susan’s sister, Su Xuan, screamed, “Susan, don’t forget—you’re part of the Su family.”

“And you’re the vice president of Su Corporation, no less.”

“Are you really going to side with an outsider, a worthless nobody?”

Susan opened her mouth to respond, but Ye Yun, unable to stand it any longer, interrupted.

“Wife, you don’t need to get involved in this trivial matter. I’ll handle the sparks and flames,” he said calmly.

To Su Qiang and his family, coming to demand justice was a bold move.

But to Ye Yun, they were nothing but insignificant insects.

He stared coldly at Su Qiang. “Your son, Su Jian, wasn’t crippled by me.”

“But I want you to know, I’d gladly stomp out his manhood myself.”

Boom!

Susan’s head buzzed in disbelief. Ye Yun dared to provoke them?

Su Qiang and Su Xuan were stunned, almost unable to believe their ears.

Then fury overwhelmed them; their faces flushed crimson with wrath.

Su Qiang trembled, eyes reddening as he roared, “Do it!”

“Kill that bastard, chop off his head!”

Su Xuan spat venomously, “You worthless creature, you harmed my brother and still have the audacity to be so arrogant.”

“By this time next year, you’ll be dead.”

As several bodyguards charged forward, Susan panicked, pushing Ye Yun. “Run!”

But a cold gleam flashed in Ye Yun’s eyes.

Run? That was out of the question.

“Stop!”

Suddenly, a low command rang out.

A group of people approached, including the hospital director.

But he was just a figurehead.

The real heavyweight was an elderly man with graying hair and a strong posture.

He smiled warmly at Ye Yun. “Young friend, we meet again.”

Ye Yun returned a faint smile. “Old Master Wu, good to see you.”

The newcomer was Wu Tianshun, president of the Jiangnan City Antique Association, who had earlier tried to befriend Ye Yun at the racetrack.

Su Qiang’s eyelids twitched nervously as he forced a smile. “Old Master Wu, good health to you.”

The Su family was, at best, a second-tier clan in Jiangnan City.

But the Wu family, to which Wu Tianshun belonged, was a prestigious aristocratic lineage.

Wu Tianshun was a titan in the antiques world, commanding respect throughout Jiangnan.

Wu Tianshun nodded. “Mr. Su, I don’t concern myself with whatever conflict you have with young Ye Yun.”

“Do me the courtesy of letting this matter drop.”

Su Xuan snarled, “Drop it? My brother’s life hangs in the balance.”

“That Ye bastard must die.”

Wu Tianshun frowned. “Young lady, such fierce words.”

“If you’re so quick to speak of death, since I’m here, I want to see how the Su family intends to proceed.”

Sensing the elder’s displeasure, the hospital director and others quickly intervened.

“Mr. Su, no matter what, you must honor Old Master Wu’s face.”

“That’s right. Since Old Master Wu has spoken, this matter should be settled peacefully.”

Su Qiang’s anger roared inside, but he dared not defy them openly.

“Very well. Since Old Master Wu has spoken, I will comply.”

“But, Old Master Wu, this kid is just a lowly gatekeeper—not worthy to associate with you.”

Wu Tianshun replied coolly, “Who I choose to befriend is my business, not yours, Mr. Su.”

Stung by the rebuff, Su Qiang seethed silently.

He wondered how such a lowly security guard could command the attention of someone like Wu Tianshun.

Su Xuan glared venomously at Ye Yun. “You bastard, just you wait.”

“You might escape now, but you won’t next time.”

“In Jiangdong, the Su family will make an example of you—it will be effortless.”

Su Qiang’s eyes darkened as he looked at Ye Yun.

This little brat would never be spared.

For now, they were only yielding out of respect for Wu Tianshun.

But soon enough, he had countless ways to make Ye Yun suffer.

At that moment, Ye Yun smiled. “Old Master, I didn’t realize your words carried so much weight in Jiangnan City.”

Wu Tianshun laughed heartily, a hint of arrogance in his tone. “You only just realized?”

“I’ve been looking out for you, but you didn’t appreciate it before.”

“You might be stronger than me at the racetrack, but in society, kid, you’ve still got a long way to go.”

Ye Yun’s smile brightened. “Indeed, Old Master, I truly admire you—heart and soul.”

“Then how about you do me another favor?”

Finally, Ye Yun uttered a compliment.

Wu Tianshun felt completely at ease and replied without hesitation, “No problem. Whatever you want, just say it.”

Ye Yun raised his hand, grinning. “Actually, it’s not a big request.”

“My hand’s just itching to slap someone.”

Before Wu Tianshun, Susan, and the others could react, Ye Yun casually stepped forward and slapped Su Xuan hard across the face.

“You’ve got one little bastard on your left and one on your right threatening me.”

“Now, how about you try taking me on?”

Still smiling, Ye Yun raised his hand again and struck her twice more across the ears.

Su Xuan clutched her reddened cheek, stunned into silence.

“You...”

Su Qiang stood nearby, eyes wide as he watched his daughter being struck, roaring, “You damn dog, you’re asking for death!”

Smack! Smack!

Ye Yun struck two more blows, relishing the sharp satisfaction.

Su Xuan was flung backward by the force, collapsing unconscious.

Su Qiang’s face contorted, as if his very organs were aflame.

Ye Yun looked at him coldly. “This time, it’s just a lesson.”

“Next time won’t be so easy.”

“Don’t think you’re just some small-time Su Corporation executive.”

“Even if you were the king of the gods descended to earth, if I don’t like you, I’ll still take you down.”

“Besides, this whole mess started because your son Su Jian, that idiot, provoked me first.”

“You failed to discipline him and now you’re bullying others with your influence.”

“As for your fate, I have just two words for your family.”

“Serves you right!”

With that, Ye Yun stared at Su Qiang as if the words “Come and try” were etched on his face.

“Take the young lady to get treatment. Let’s go.”

Su Qiang drew a deep breath and ordered the bodyguards.

He kept telling himself to stay calm, to hold back, to let this brat run wild for now.

“Old Master, you saw it for yourself. It’s not that I won’t give you face.”

“It’s that this man is truly courting death!”

As they left, the sinister smile on Su Qiang’s face sent chills down the spine.

Susan glared at Ye Yun, furious. “Are you crazy?”

“Old Master already settled things for you. Why did you have to pick a fight?”

Ye Yun replied calmly, “I’m not bullying anyone. I just can’t stand people pretending to be something they’re not in front of me.”

“Besides, even if I did bully them, what can Su Qiang’s family do to me?”

Susan was about to explode.

Meanwhile, Wu Tianshun laughed heartily. “Ha, interesting.”

“I haven’t seen such a charismatic young man in a long time.”

He laughed freely, but the others nearby cast pitying glances at Ye Yun.

Su Qiang held back today only out of respect for Wu Tianshun.

But Wu Tianshun can’t protect this kid forever, can he?

They’d heard he was just a lowly security guard, a gatekeeper.

Yet with such abilities, he even dared to provoke Su Qiang—the sly tiger of the Su family.

Though the Su family wasn’t the topmost power, Su Qiang was still a notable figure in Jiangnan City.

He wouldn’t let this insult slide.

This little security guard was walking a path with only one end: death.

No doubt about it.
