The club staff were called over to carry Wang Shao away. Zhao Zixuan’s face darkened as he jumped onto the ring. “Brother Ye, I didn’t expect you to have some real skill.”

“Wang Shao’s martial arts are unrefined; he’s considered my junior disciple.”

“Now, as his senior brother, I’ve come to test your prowess.”

Susan quickly protested, “No, you can’t!”

Xu Yuer also said, “Better not, Zhao Shao. You’re a black belt eighth-degree expert, an award-winning taekwondo prodigy. Ye Yun isn’t your match.”

Zhao Zixuan snorted coldly. “You can’t just let this go after injuring someone.”

“What’s it to you? This kid has to spar with me.”

“Or else, follow the rules: three kneels and nine kowtows to show submission.”

Both Susan and Xu Yuer frowned; Zhao Zixuan’s arrogance was a bit much.

Ye Yun remained unfazed, hands in pockets, ready to leave the ring.

Zhao Zixuan stepped sideways, face grim. “Trying to walk away? Not that easy!”

Ye Yun slapped him directly on the shoulder.

With a loud thud, Zhao Zixuan’s face hit the ring floor, an unmissable kiss.

The pain was excruciating; his face twisted in agony!

Ye Yun stepped on his back and calmly walked down from the ring.

“Such fuss for a black belt eighth-degree taekwondo expert? That’s it?”

Those two words, dripping with disdain, left Susan and Xu Yuer dumbfounded.

If Ye Yun’s quick defeat of Wang Shao was a fluke, there might be some excuse.

But Zhao Zixuan was a certified black belt eighth-degree master, even listed as a club coach.

Yet this tough guy couldn’t withstand one slap from Ye Yun.

Was this guy the reincarnation of Li Yuanba?

In the infirmary, after groaning for half an hour, Zhao Zixuan finally recovered.

His face was fierce. “That little bastard, I’ll cripple him for sure.”

“Damn it, to lose face like this!”

At this moment, Ye Yun, Susan, and Xu Yuer arrived at the racetrack.

The stands were already filled with many wealthy people from Jiangnan City.

Xu Yuer excitedly said, “Shanshan, what makes this club most attractive is the horse racing.”

“How about we play a couple of rounds? It’s really thrilling.”

Susan smiled. “I mainly brought Ye Yun here to broaden his horizons.”

“You play, we’ll watch.”

Xu Yuer snorted and teased Ye Yun, “Security guard, brute strength alone won’t let you survive in high society.”

“Horse racing is for people with true taste and style. Watch me play, learn a thing or two.”

Ye Yun curled his lips and glanced up at the blazing sun.

Susan beside him was drenched in fragrant sweat, also struggling with the heat.

Nearby, a few parasols were set up along the stands.

Ye Yun walked over, grabbed one, and took it away.

“Stand under here. You girls can’t handle the sun!”

Susan blushed and instinctively refused. “No need!”

Ye Yun grumbled, “Stop being stubborn, look at you—your skin’s all red.”

“Such fair, delicate skin won’t look good sunburned.”

Feeling the sudden shade above her head, Susan said nothing but felt a bit pleased.

This little security guard actually cared quite well.

Though somehow, they seemed a bit too close now.

Ye Yun took a deep breath and couldn’t help but say, “Really nice!”

Susan’s brows lifted sharply. “What did you say?”

Ye Yun quickly changed the subject: “Number eight will definitely win this race.”

Susan looked toward the track. Ten horses were galloping full speed; the outcome was still uncertain.

In front of the stands, a crowd waved and cheered for their bets.

“How do you know number eight will win?” Susan asked.

Ye Yun looked indifferent. “Just guessing.”

Soon, the race ended.

The loudspeaker announced the winner: “Number eight takes first place!”

Susan was surprised. “You actually guessed right!”

Xu Yuer rushed back. “Ah, so unlucky! My bet on number five almost won.”

“Who would’ve thought number eight would win.”

“Shanshan, come on, let’s go up front.”

“Old Wu, the president of the Antique Association, is here too. He’s a big shot in Jiangnan City and a huge horse racing fan. Let’s hear his insights!”

Susan glanced at Ye Yun, suspecting he had just gotten lucky.

A mere security guard wouldn’t understand the games of the upper class.

At the front row, an elderly man with graying hair and a long robe smiled warmly.

“Oh, it’s you two girls.”

“Interested in horse racing too?”

Xu Yuer playfully said, “Old Wu, we want to tag along with you.”

“Whatever horse you bet on, I’ll follow.”

Wu Tianshun laughed heartily. “You’re a smart one, little Xu girl.”

“But you’ve got good taste.”

“Stick with me, and I’ll make sure you earn plenty of pocket money.”

Nearby people quickly flattered him.

“Not bad—President Wu is a professional at horse racing. Few can match him in Jiangnan City.”

“That’s right. Not only is he a great antique expert, but his horse racing skills are top-tier.”

“No more talk. Follow President Wu’s bets, and you’ll make a fortune!”

The gates opened, and the ten horses thundered out again.

Wu Tianshun stroked his beard and declared, “Number three will win this round!”

Others hurried to place their bets accordingly.

Xu Yuer put in five thousand yuan.

Suddenly, a discordant voice rang out: “The winner this round should be number nine!”

Huh?

Everyone turned to look.

Who was this guy to dare contradict Old Wu?

Xu Yuer was shocked and scolded, “Ye Yun, if you don’t understand, don’t talk nonsense.”

She was bewildered by his wild claims.

Could anyone be wiser than Old Wu?

Yet Wu Tianshun gave Ye Yun a glance, still smiling. “Young man, your insight isn’t quite seasoned enough.”

“Here’s some advice from an old man—you still need practice!”

Susan stayed silent; she wanted to see if Ye Yun’s luck would hold again.

The whistle blew, and the race ended.

The loudspeaker announced: “Number nine bravely takes first place!”

Silence!

The previously noisy stands fell completely silent.

Hundreds of eyes fixed on Ye Yun, full of bewilderment.

Damn, the kid really guessed right again.

Xu Yuer’s mouth opened slightly. “Ye Yun, how did you know number nine would win?!”

Susan looked at Ye Yun suspiciously.

This guy won two rounds in a row; could it really be just luck?

She doubted it.

Wu Tianshun snorted coldly. “Kid, that’s some damn good luck.”

“Shall we race again?”

Ye Yun shook his head. “Better not. Sir, I’ll return your words exactly—still need practice!”

Wu Tianshun’s eyelids twitched violently; his nose twisted in anger.

He shouted, “Bastard! I’ve played horse racing for over thirty years and never met someone so cocky.”

“Let’s race again. Today, I’ll teach you young punk a lesson!”

The sycophants beside him wore fiery expressions.

“That’s right, keep going. Young man, no matter how lucky you are, you don’t know your place!”

“When Old Wu was racing, you were still wetting your bed!”

“If you win against Old Wu in the next round, I’ll streak right here!”

Ye Yun glanced at Susan. “Honey, I’ll win you some money for makeup.”

“Lend me two thousand, I’ll pay back a hundred thousand!”

Susan’s cheeks flushed but she wasn’t angry.

Instead, she felt proud.

If Ye Yun really could win, especially against a big shot like Wu Tianshun,

Money didn’t matter to her.

But a woman’s vanity was greatly satisfied.

“Alright, here’s two thousand!”

A new round of racing began.

Ten fine horses burst from the gates, hooves flying.

Wu Tianshun squinted, confirmed all was well, and declared, “Bet on number six, everyone! Trust me and gain eternal fortune!”

“Alright, we fully support you, Old Wu!”

“Trusting Old Wu is a must. I’m betting fifty thousand.”

“Kid, no matter how lucky you get, it will run out. Just wait and see Old Wu’s precision and ferocity.”

Ye Yun’s face remained calm. “Two thousand on number one.”

Xu Yuer’s eyes flicked; she followed with, “I’ll put twenty thousand on number one too!”

The finish line loomed; everyone stretched their necks, waiting to see who would win!
