Starlight Entertainment.

The conference room was packed with people.

A furious voice rang out.

“Yang Weiwei, Zhou Muren, what the hell are they trying to do? Didn’t we give them awards? Why are they speaking up for Jiang Yu?”

Li Gang swept everything off the table and sent it crashing to the floor.

“Damn Jiang Yu!”

Ever since Jiang Yu’s debut, the two sides had been locked in an irreconcilable feud. Yet after several confrontations, Li Gang had lost to the young man every single time.

This time, he had joined forces with so many commercial partners, and still Jiang Yu had beaten him.

Those who had won awards were all inferior to a man who had won none!

That was not even the worst of it. Jiang Yu had actually shattered the unspoken rules of the entertainment industry. English songs had won Chinese-language Golden Melody Awards before, but after this incident, such an arrangement would never be possible again.

Their entertainment companies had suffered enormous losses.

They had originally intended to use the Golden Melody Awards to blacklist him, never expecting so many veteran stars—both kings and queens of the industry—to come forward in his support.

Just what kind of magic did Jiang Yu possess to attract so many people?

Li Gang ground his teeth in fury.

“Chairman Li, what should we do now?”

The moment the head of Elephant Entertainment saw Li Gang in such a state, he spoke up.

With one person taking the lead, the others followed. The heads of the remaining entertainment companies began questioning him as well.

“That’s right, Chairman Li. We blacklisted Jiang Yu at your suggestion. Now the credibility of the Chinese-language Golden Melody Awards has plummeted. Who is going to bear the losses?”

“Exactly, Chairman Li. You were the one who proposed this. You should take full responsibility!”

Li Gang looked at the group and let out a cold laugh.

“We acted together. It hardly seems appropriate for me to take responsibility alone.”

“But you were the one who suggested it first.”

“Did I beg you to agree? You want to join forces against me? Do you think I, Li Gang, was raised to be frightened? At worst, we can all go down together. Even if Starlight Entertainment takes a step backward, I still have enough power to drag every one of you into the water.”

“President Li, are you threatening us? With so many of us here, do you really think we’re afraid of you?”

“Chairman Gu, you’re welcome to try.”

Li Gang narrowed his eyes and leaned back in his chair. His voice was calm, but it carried a bone-chilling coldness.

Several of the bosses fell silent.

When Li Gang had first made his way into the industry, people had called him Madman Li. No one doubted that he meant every word.

“Then tell us what we should do now. The Golden Melody Awards can still be saved, but if this continues, they will lose all credibility. None of us can bear losses on that scale!”

Hearing this, Li Gang fell into thought and let out a quiet sigh. How could he not understand the seriousness of the situation? But he was unwilling to simply let the matter end there.

“Chairman, there’s some new information.”

Just then, his secretary hurried in, an iPad in hand.

Li Gang took the document from her and glanced at it. His eyes widened, and then a smile spread across his face. He looked around at the bosses seated nearby.

“Everyone, our opportunity has arrived.”

With that, he placed the iPad on the table and gently pushed it forward.

The nearest boss picked it up and read the contents.

Only moments earlier, Jiang Yu had posted an announcement on Weibo.

“Everyone, my first concert will be held in Magic City. See you there.”

The announcement also included the ticket-sale time and the concert venue.

The moment the post went live, fans rushed to respond.

“Brother Yu, you’ve finally announced the ticket-sale time! Ever since you said you were going to hold a concert, do you know how painfully I’ve been waiting?”

“Wakaka! One of the front-row tickets is definitely mine. None of you even think about competing with me!”

“Keep dreaming. Do you really think ordinary people like you can compete with the hand speed of a thirty-year single man?”

“Brother Yu, see you in Magic City!”

Upon seeing that Jiang Yu’s concert would go ahead as scheduled, the fans became more excited than the last.

Far too many things had happened recently. They had been terrified that Jiang Yu might postpone the concert because of them—or that it might not be held at all.

But now that Jiang Yu had updated his Weibo, everyone felt reassured.

At the same time, influential figures from every corner began frantically reposting the announcement and helping promote it.

Huayue Entertainment’s official account, Yang Weiwei, Zhou Muren, Su Muyu, and many other reigning kings and queens of the industry all reposted it on their own.

Even a major figure from the online-literature world, Turkey-Flavored Guoba, shared the post.

And the famous entertainment-industry watchdog, Principal Wang, reposted it as well. Of course, he did not repost Jiang Yu’s original post, but Turkey-Flavored Guoba’s:

“Brothers, I’m going to the concert in person to demand an update. Anyone coming with me?”

“Wakaka! I’m going to try to grab a ticket too. This Guoba gives us only a few scraps every day—who does he think he’s fooling?”

“Decision made. I’m going to demand an update in person at the concert!”

If one asked who had the greatest influence in the entertainment industry, it could only be Principal Wang, the industry’s self-appointed watchdog. His reach far exceeded that of those so-called top-tier young idols.

With his promotion, Jiang Yu’s concert was pushed straight to the height of public attention.

In the office, the boss holding the iPad frowned. He had never imagined that Jiang Yu’s influence would be so immense—not even the son of the richest man in the country, Principal Wang, had been drawn in.

“Chairman Li, what are you planning to do?”

Li Gang gave a cold laugh.

“He wants to hold a concert. So we simply make sure he can’t hold it.”

“But Young Master Wang is the son of the richest man in the country. It wouldn’t be wise to offend him.”

“Whether this concert takes place or not makes no difference to Young Master Wang. He’s going there to chase after the man who wrote those updates.”

The men looked at the post and thought it over. Principal Wang indeed had not reposted Jiang Yu’s Weibo. He had reposted the post by Turkey-Flavored Guoba instead.

After much deliberation, one of the bosses spoke.

“Chairman Li, what’s your plan? At this point, there’s no need to keep hiding it.”

Li Gang let out two cold laughs.

“I’m going to tamper with the ticket sales.”

“You’re going to rig the ticket purchases?”

Everyone present was an entertainment-industry executive. They naturally understood what he meant.

Li Gang smiled faintly.

“That’s right. When the time comes, you can have your own artists hold concerts as well. If Jiang Yu’s tickets can’t be bought, the crowds will be diverted to you. You might even make a fortune. Consider it my compensation to all of you.”

“But if he can’t hold the concert, the impact on him won’t be all that great.”

“Don’t worry. I have another move prepared. This time, I’ll make sure Jiang Yu is ruined beyond recovery!”

Seeing the certainty on Li Gang’s face, the other bosses could only sigh.

“In that case, we’ll wait for your good news, Chairman Li.”

After saying this, the bosses left one after another, returning to prepare their own artists’ concerts.

Li Gang turned his gaze toward Li Jiang, who was standing nearby.

“You heard everything just now?”

“Yes, Dad. What other plans do you have?”

“I remember you have a female artist under you named Zhao Yiyi. She’s Jiang Yu’s former girlfriend, isn’t she?”

A sinister light flashed through Li Gang’s eyes.

“Go and have a talk with her.”
