Volume 1, Chapter 132: The Weibo Website Has Crashed

“Leader, this is bad!”
A staff member burst into the office.
“Whatever happened to composure?” the middle-aged man said calmly. “You should learn from me and be a little steadier.”
The staff member nodded and took a moment to catch his breath.
The middle-aged man nodded in satisfaction. “Now, tell me what happened to make you so flustered.”
“Our servers are about to crash.”
“What did you say?” The middle-aged man set down his teacup and opened his eyes wide. “How could the servers suddenly crash? What exactly happened?”
“Because of Jiang Yu’s situation. The discussion on Weibo has continued to escalate, and huge numbers of people are flooding onto the site at the same time. Our servers have already reached their limit.”
“Contact the technical team immediately!”
……
Two hours had passed since Jiang Yu posted on Weibo, and tens of millions of people were online simultaneously, eagerly devouring the gossip.
“This garbage server can’t even load a picture!”
“@Weibo, fire every single one of your technicians. Scatter some rice over the keyboard—chickens would do a better job than they do.”
……
Fortunately, Weibo was one of the most advanced social platforms in the country, and its technical staff were highly capable. They quickly expanded the servers and restored the site to normal operation.
After reading the chat logs and looking through the high-definition photographs, the entire online community exploded once again.
“I’ve seen that woman perform before. She was terribly unprofessional and could only attract attention by shaking her breasts and twisting her hips.”
“Haha, I thought so too. Now I finally understand! No wonder that woman managed to get into Star Entertainment. It turns out she hooked up with Li Jiang, Star Entertainment’s heir.”
“I never would have imagined that Jiang Yu used to be such a simp. Jiang Yu, you’ve really disgraced the entire world of male idols!”
“What an earth-shattering reversal! I’m dying. I never imagined a woman like this could exist.”
“@The commenter above, you’re too inexperienced. There are far too many women like her in this world.”
“It really is true that the more famous someone becomes, the more trouble follows. Getting set up by an ex-girlfriend like that is absolutely disgusting.”
“Brother Yu was being attacked so viciously just now. The entertainment industry is truly deep water. If he hadn’t had such solid evidence, his career as a star would probably have ended right there.”
“Hahaha, I don’t care who was right or wrong. This gossip is simply too satisfying. Hahaha!”
“Brothers, ticket sales for Brother Yu’s show begin today. I’m definitely going to be there to support him!”
“One front-row ticket is definitely mine.”
……
At Bund One, Su Muy雨 leaned against Jiang Yu’s shoulder while Jiang Yu held her in his arms, gently playing with her fingers.
Everything had its advantages and disadvantages. Although the incident had affected Jiang Yu to some extent, once the truth was explained, his popularity actually increased considerably.

“Sometimes, I really envy your luck.”
Su Ling watched the popularity continue to soar and clicked her tongue twice.
“Ticket sales begin today, and now a wave of publicity has fallen from the sky.”
Jiang Yu smiled indifferently.
As for Zhao Yiyi, he did not have particularly strong feelings toward her. The two of them had already broken up when he first crossed into this world.
If they had simply continued along their separate paths, he would neither have sought trouble with Zhao Yiyi nor bothered to do so.
But the fact was that there were always some shameless people who went looking for trouble for no reason, provoking others and doing things that harmed them for their own benefit.
Jiang Yu was not a particularly benevolent man when it came to people like that. He would strike back—and strike back hard enough to ensure they would never again dare entertain the thought of harming him.
Only then could such a matter be considered finished.
“How are we going to handle this from here?” Su Ling asked.
Jiang Yu replied calmly, “Organize the evidence and file a lawsuit.”
Su Ling nodded.
Just then, a telephone began to ring.
“I completely forgot about this.” Su Ling slapped her forehead after answering the call. “It’s President Wang from the ticketing website.”
Holding the phone in one hand, Su Ling looked toward Jiang Yu. “He wants to confirm this with us once more. He’s asking whether you…”
“Are you certain you want to go through with this? We’ll lose a great deal of money. Those people have already contacted me several times. They’re willing to buy your tickets at five times the price, even ten times the price.”
Jiang Yu shook his head. “There are many ways to make money. This is the only one I don’t want to use.”
Seeing how firm Jiang Yu sounded, Su Ling could only nod and say into the phone, “Start releasing them. Release every ticket.”
Time passed little by little.
At five fifty-nine in the evening, the moment finally arrived for Jiang Yu’s tickets to go on sale.
Because of the incident that had occurred only two hours earlier, interest in Jiang Yu’s ticket sales had climbed steadily higher.
The six o’clock sale had entered its final countdown.
Ten…
Nine…
Eight…
…
Two!
One!
As the clock struck six, hundreds of thousands of people across the country entered the ticketing app simultaneously. Many of them held several phones in their hands, frantically tapping the payment button.

Headquarters of the ticketing website.
“President Wang, a huge number of people have suddenly flooded our site. The servers are struggling to keep up!” a staff member reported to a middle-aged man in the office.
“Which stars are selling tickets today? Which one caused this?” President Wang frowned.
A technician held up the report in his hands.
“It’s Jiang Yu. More than six million people are viewing his ticket page. The other stars selling tickets today are the young idols from the major entertainment companies.”
“So it’s him!” President Wang’s eyes lit up. “Why didn’t you say that earlier? Hurry up and activate every backup server we have. Don’t leave a single one unused!”
“Yes!”
The technician was just about to leave.
“Wait!”
The voice stopped him in his tracks. He turned around and looked at his employer.
“You know my account. Find a way to get me three of Jiang Yu’s tickets—the front row.”
“Understood!”
The technician nodded and left the office.
President Wang happily picked up his phone and opened the ticketing app.
As soon as the page loaded, the phone began to lag.
President Wang could not help but sigh in admiration. Jiang Yu’s popularity was astonishing. Even his wife and children wanted tickets to Jiang Yu’s show.
It was just a shame that all of Jiang Yu’s tickets were being sold directly to his fans. That was precisely why President Wang had gone from being a passerby to becoming a fan.
Generally speaking, in order to make more money, when a star held a concert, sixty-five to seventy percent of the tickets would be sold to scalpers at inflated prices, leaving the fans to fight over the remaining thirty-five to forty percent.
The numbers would then be altered as well. Clearly, there might be only a little over three thousand tickets, yet the displayed figure would claim there were ten thousand.
This was an unspoken rule throughout the entertainment industry.
Yet Jiang Yu actually possessed the courage to break that unspoken rule outright.
The scalpers had approached Radiant Entertainment many times. They had even offered ten times the original price, and then twenty times, but the company remained unmoved and resolutely refused them.
Perhaps this Jiang Yu truly had the ability to change the entire structure of the entertainment industry.
President Wang admired him inwardly as he refreshed the ticket information. His account had already been confirmed as eligible to purchase three tickets, so there was no need for him to panic.
But just as he was about to make the payment, a line of text suddenly appeared on his phone:
“System loading error!”
