Chapter Sixty-Five: Vico’s Wrath
“Sigh, when you think about it, that little ghost is actually quite pitiful. Not only was it viciously killed by an evil sorcerer, but it’s also doomed to suffer torment. In the end, it becomes this irredeemable monster.”
“So what do you plan to do, Your Majesty? Are you going to destroy it right away?”
“At first, that was my intention. But now, perhaps it’s better to capture it and have your unreliable Taoist friend help it find peace. However… before that, we must figure out who’s behind all this targeting you.”
At the same time, at the end of the alley, Sun and Li Fang and their gang were anxiously waiting.
“Sun, do you think the little ghost has finished the job? Did it bite that damned loser to death?”
“It should be done by now, right? But why haven’t we heard any screams?” Li Fang sounded impatient, doubting whether the ghost was effective at all.
Sun was about to retort when suddenly his expression froze. “What’s happening?”
The gang, hiding in the shadows, watched as a terrifying, grotesque doll’s head floated toward them under the dim streetlight—Sun’s little ghost, sent out earlier.
“It’s back! Is it done? Let’s go, we can take that stunning beauty now. Just thinking about it gets me hard,” Li Fang exclaimed, standing up and rubbing his hands together, his lecherous eyes gleaming.
His mind was filled with fantasies of stripping Dong Weike and pressing her up against the alley wall…
But Sun’s face suddenly changed—something was wrong!
Wailing cries echoed from the little ghost as it lunged at Sun, jaws wide and bristling with razor-sharp teeth, biting deep into his neck!
The artery was torn open in an instant.
Blood sprayed everywhere!
Li Fang, closest to Sun, was drenched in the torrent of blood.
The thick, metallic stench instantly extinguished all the lust and depravity burning in his heart. His eyes went wide, filled only with shock and boundless terror.
“How… how could this…”
Sun desperately tried to pry the ghost’s jaws from his throat, but it was useless.
His pupils dilated and lost focus—he was dead.
This underworld boss, notorious for his misdeeds and recently coaxing Li Fang to kill Fu Yang and assault Dong Weike, just met his end.
After killing Sun, the ghost floated back up.
Li Fang and the other thugs turned pale with fear; one of the more timid even wet himself, the acrid smell of urine quickly spreading.
But the ghost didn’t attack them again. It simply turned midair, wailing, and flew away.
“Well, well, so this is where the rats have been hiding?” A soft, melodious voice suddenly rang out from the darkness beyond the streetlight’s reach.
Under normal circumstances, these villains would have been thrilled. But now, they felt a terror that seeped into their very bones.
A man and a woman stepped into the yellow glow of the streetlight from the shadows.
And the once-fierce ghost was now perched meekly on the beautiful woman’s shoulder, whimpering and trying its best to please her, afraid it had done something wrong.
The man and woman were, of course, Fu Yang and Dong Weike.
Seeing this, Li Fang’s mind went blank, as if his soul had left his body. He wanted to run, but his legs wouldn’t move.
“Take a look—do you recognize anyone here? Who’s behind all this?” Fu Yang scanned the group, quickly spotting Li Fang cowering among the tattooed thugs, trembling like a quail.
“It’s you! You’ve plotted against me over and over, and now you’ve tried to use a ghost to kill me?”
He was furious. He’d thought Li Fang was just a spoiled rich kid, but now it turned out he was actually trying to kill someone with a vengeful ghost!
“No, I didn’t… We just wanted to prank you, to scare you a bit.” Li Fang stammered, a smile uglier than a grimace plastered on his face. The other thugs nodded frantically in agreement.
Weike smiled and clapped her hands. “Hearing the truth is easy enough.”
No sooner had she spoken than a wisp of black mist flew from her palm, spiraling into Li Fang’s nose and lifting him off the ground.
His eyes instantly became vacant, his mouth slack and drooling—he was completely unaware.
“Tell me, why did you summon the ghost?”
Li Fang, like a robot, answered dully, “We wanted this bastard to be tormented and killed by the ghost, then… to have you assaulted! No, not just assaulted—gang-raped…”
What?!
Fu Yang nearly exploded with rage at those words.
He’d thought Li Fang was just a troublemaker, but he never imagined he would actually plot murder—and to do that to Weike? Sometimes, people are even more terrifying than ghosts.
“Who came up with this plan?”
“Sun, the one who just died. The ghost was his, too.”
He glanced at Weike, whose face still wore a smile, but whose eyes flashed with icy light.
His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly tried to intercede, “At least he didn’t succeed…”
Weike shot him a playful glare. “You’re so soft-hearted? Fine, I won’t kill him—but he can’t escape punishment!”
Her eyes suddenly turned blood-red, fierce and menacing.
The thugs screamed and begged for mercy, too terrified to run. Some even dropped to their knees, banging their heads on the ground until blood streamed down their foreheads—a pitiful sight.
Twin beams of blood-red light shot from Weike’s eyes like razor-sharp blades, instantly severing both of Li Fang’s arms.
Aaaah!!!
The scream was cut off as black mist sealed his mouth. Agonizing pain snapped him out of the trance, his eyes wide with endless terror as he soiled himself in fear.
Weike sneered coldly, “You wanted to kill my man, then violate me? Little ghost, bite off his pride! Use your teeth, but don’t kill him.”
Fu Yang, seeing Li Fang suffering so miserably, had almost been inclined to let him go—until he heard those words: “my man.” His mind went blank.
He heard nothing else, just stared at Weike’s stunning profile, frozen and speechless.
Wailing, the little ghost darted forward, opened its sharp jaws, and bit down hard on Li Fang’s groin.
A bloody, mangled mass was torn off and landed right on another thug’s head—he fainted on the spot, collapsing to the ground.
As for Li Fang, he crashed to the turf, limp as a dead dog.
“Spare us, immortals, please have mercy! We were wrong, we’ll never do it again!” The remaining thugs, their worldview shattered, sobbed and pleaded, convinced they had provoked gods that night.
