Chapter Ninety-Nine: Ah Huang’s New Client
Page 1/3
Ah Huang frantically tugged at Fu Yang’s sleeve, urging him to calm down and not say reckless things...
Dong Weike’s fair face gradually turned ashen, her captivating large eyes brimming with sparkling tears.
Smack!!!
A sharp, crisp sound.
She raised her hand and delivered a heavy slap to Fu Yang’s cheek.
Then she sniffled hard, holding back the tears that threatened to fall.
“Alright, Fu Yang. You’re human, and I’m a ghost, huh? So this is how little you think of me. Fine, this is your house—should I just get lost?”
Then she suddenly raised her voice: “Fu Yang, you bastard!!!”
Her entire form transformed into a dark mist that surged forward with great force, knocking Fu Yang flying onto the bed.
Then she passed straight through the wall and disappeared...
The room was plunged into silence.
Ah Huang sat on the floor like a dumbfounded fool, only coming to his senses after a long while. He quickly scrambled over to check on Fu Yang.
“Damn, bro, you okay?”
He reached out and groped Fu Yang all over like some kind of pervert, only stopping after confirming he was unharmed.
Fu Yang said nothing, just stared blankly at the ceiling.
“What’s wrong? You were so macho just now, now you’re regretting it?”
“Yeah, I regret it... I shouldn’t have spoken to her like that. I really was a jerk.”
Fu Yang sat up and vigorously ruffled his hair, making it look like a nest.
For some reason, after speaking in a moment of impulse earlier and seeing Dong Weike’s tears and the mixture of anger and sadness in her expression, he felt as if his heart was being cut by knives!
He wasn’t hurt when Dong Weike turned into a dark mist and knocked him away, but seeing her walk straight through the wall and leave made it hard for him to breathe...
“Is this... what heartache feels like? Have I really fallen for this fierce female ghost?”
Fu Yang was dazed, his mind a tangled mess.
Seeing his state, Ah Huang chuckled.
After just getting slapped, Fu Yang looked like a terrifying pig-headed monster.

“Young man, hot-tempered and reckless—regretting your words now, huh? I told you to calm down, but you wouldn’t listen.”
“Damn! Can you stop being such a Monday-morning quarterback?”
“Man, I tried to pull you back when you were arguing with her but failed. You always seem gentle, but when your temper flares, you’re as stubborn as a bull.”
Fu Yang shot him a glare but ignored him. The guy just smiled and leaned in closer.
“Look, today I confirmed two things. First, this Ghost King really likes you. Otherwise, after you yelled at her like that... I can’t even imagine what would have happened! Believe it or not, even if we dragged those old Daoist masters from Longhu Mountain who meditate in seclusion to practice their arts, they wouldn’t dare behave so disrespectfully toward a Ghost King-level being. Second, you’ve actually fallen for this Ghost King too...”
Ah Huang’s smile was so lecherous that Fu Yang felt like punching his pig-headed face again.
After a long while, Fu Yang heaved a deep sigh.
“So what if I like her? She’s a ghost, I’m human—we’re separated by yin and yang. Besides, don’t Daoists in TV shows always resist human-ghost relationships? Why do you look so happy?”
“Nonsense! Do you think Daoists are all rigid, inflexible old fuddy-duddies who forbid relationships between humans and ghosts or demons for no reason? There are only two reasons. First, ghosts or demons are evil and do wicked deeds. Dong Weike obviously doesn’t fall into that category.”
Fu Yang nodded: “That’s true... Although she’s usually fierce toward us, I can feel she’s kind-hearted.”
“Second, some meddlesome, dumbass Daoists or monks care too much. But your wife is a Ghost King. If she really went berserk, it’d be a headache for anyone. Who dares provoke her? So, morally and practically, if you two want to be together, no one can stop it.”
Hearing Ah Huang, Fu Yang started daydreaming again, not knowing what he was thinking.
Still the same old problem...
He truly liked Dong Weike.
But he was also somewhat attracted to the ever-so-cool goddess Qin Mei and the policewoman Zhao Shanshan. Now a cold and elegant female CEO suddenly appeared, making things complicated and tangled...
“Damn! Am I really a scumbag?”
This dilemma that plagues countless modern men also tormented our pure-hearted Fu Yang...
“Forget it, no more thinking. Things will sort themselves out in time.”
Fu Yang stood up, ready to leave, and Ah Huang hurriedly asked where he was going.
“Of course, to find Weike. She’s a girl, upset and vulnerable outside…”
Smack!
He got a slap on the head from Ah Huang.
“I think you’re delirious. What danger is there from a Ghost King? Although it’s daytime now, it’s been cloudy lately with no sun. At her level, the worst is her powers are a bit weak, so she shouldn’t stay outdoors too long, but it’s no big deal. Besides, West Mountain Cemetery is her base. She probably went back there...”
Ah Huang glanced at Fu Yang again, adopting a knowing tone from experience:
“Actually, couples arguing is normal. Weike’s probably still angry now, and if you rush to find her, it won’t look good. Better to wait a few days for emotions to cool down, isn’t that better?”

Fu Yang was so overwhelmed by the verbal barrage that he just nodded repeatedly, his mood finally improving a bit.
Ah Huang patted his shoulder: “That’s more like it! So, are you hungry? I’ll get you something downstairs.”
“Eat your sister!”
Fu Yang kicked him away with a foot...
That very noon, the two dined out heartily. Fu Yang turned his sorrow into appetite and mercilessly picked the restaurant clean with Ah Huang.
“By the way, if you’re free these days, want to help out at my company?”
“I still need to cultivate Daoist arts and improve my strength.”
Fu Yang picked his teeth with a toothpick, muttering.
Ah Huang hooked his arm around Fu Yang’s neck.
“You need to combine theory with practice, young man! I just took on a new client’s job, very easy, paying a hundred thousand! If it succeeds, you get forty percent...”
“I want half!”
“Deal!”
The next day, Fu Yang, feeling calmer after the argument with Weike, went with Ah Huang to a wealthy neighborhood.
He felt lately he had some kind of affinity with rich people, always ending up in these upscale villa areas.
Ah Huang’s clients were a kindly-looking elderly couple, their son having found Ah Huang on their behalf.
The couple wore very elegant clothes and lived in a large villa with a butler and three servants.
When they saw them, the silver-haired gentleman clasped Ah Huang’s hand warmly: “Master Huang, a pleasure to meet you. Please, you must help us.”
Today Ah Huang wore a Daoist robe and styled his hair in a traditional topknot, looking like an ethereal immortal.
“Don’t worry, sir. I’ve already heard from your client about the strange occurrences in your home. Allow me and my assistant to inspect the scene...”
He snapped his fingers at Fu Yang behind him.
“Damn! Such a poser... well, I’ll tolerate it for fifty thousand.”
Fu Yang had already heard from Ah Huang about this client’s situation. It wasn’t particularly strange or frightening.
